Suspect in deadly Georgia Walmart shooting dies
The man suspected in a deadly shooting at a Newton County, Georgia Walmart on Friday has died. A spokesperson from the Newton County Sheriff's Office said Dwayne Eduh, an employee of the Walmart store on Salem Road, left the store on Friday, grabbed a gun from his car at around 1:30 a.m., and returned to the store, shooting and killing Khalaf Barksdale, 21. Eduh then went to a nearby home on Emerson Trail and killed Akeela Clarke, 19, who also worked at the store, law enforcement officials said. Eduh traveled east on Interstate 20 and entered South Carolina, where he shot himself during a standoff with state troopers. >>> STREAM ACTION NEWS JAX LIVE <<< The Newton County Sheriff's Office announced Eduh had died from his injuries on Sunday night. They said Bradley remains stable at the hospital. Investigators still haven't determined Eduh's motive for the killings. Walmart employee kills 2 co-workers, injures another in after-hours shooting
Two people are dead, and another is injured in an early morning shooting spree that started at a Georgia Walmart. [DOWNLOAD: Free WHIO-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] Around 1:30 a.m.. Dwayne Eduh left the Walmart in Newtown County, Georgia, grabbed a gun from his car, and killed 21-year-old Khalaf Barksdale inside the store, according to our sister station WSB-TV. Eduh then went to a nearby home on Emerson Trail and killed Akeela Clarke, 19, who also worked at Walmart. The suspect later shot himself and was critically injured. WSB-TV received the following statement from Walmart's corporate offices on Friday morning: 'We're heartbroken by what's happened. There's no place for violence in our stores. We're focused on taking care of our associates and supporting law enforcement with their investigation.'
