Stud 4-Star Defensive Lineman Commits to Texas Longhorns

Stud 4-Star Defensive Lineman Commits to Texas Longhorns originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The rich are getting richer in college football as summer kicks off and top recruit commitments for the 2026 class begin rolling in. Advertisement Most recently, four-star defensive lineman Dylan Berymon out of the state of Louisiana chose the Texas Longhorns over a competing school in the Big Ten Conference and others. "BREAKING: Four-Star DL Dylan Berymon has Committed to Texas, he tells me for @on3recruits," Hayes Fawcett posted to X on Saturday, June 7. "The [6-foot-3, 330-pound] DL from Monroe, LA, chose the Longhorns over Purdue: 'AGTG Texas is the place to be!'" Berymon also received offers from Houston, North Carolina and LSU, per On3. Eric Nahlin of On3 reported on Saturday that Berymon is a significant get for the Longhorns, who remain thin on the interior of the defensive line despite the recent success the team/defense has had as a whole both on the field and in terms of recruitment. Advertisement "Berymon, a 6-foot-2, 320-pound defensive tackle, gives Texas coach Kenny Baker his first commitment of the class after a strong first cycle on the 40 Acres," Nahlin wrote. "Despite doing well in 2025 and in the most recent portal windows, D-tackle remains a big need for the Horns. One more good class and the room should be set for the foreseeable future." "Long-term, Berymon has the look of an anchor at nose who does his dirty work clogging up the run game," Nahlin continued. "He plays with a strong base and is able to get good upfield push." Texas lands first DT commitment from four-star Dylan Berymon

Texas Longhorns have landed their first defensive tackle commitment of the 2026 recruiting class. Four-star, 6-foot-2, 320 pound Dylan Berymon of Louisiana has picked Texas over LSU, Purdue, Houston and North Carolina. Defensive tackle is a position of need for UT. Berymon is great start to a solid defensive tackle class. With a strong base and upfield push, Berymon should be an anchor at nose tackle, clogging up the middle to stop the run. Advertisement Recruiting analysts had pegged Berymon as a future Boilermaker because of some pre-exhisting relationships. But in the end, Texas won out. He will join former Boilermaker and likely 2025 Texas starter Cole Brevard in the DT room. On3's Industry Rankings have Berymon ranked as the No. 172 overall prospect, the No. 19 defensive linema and the No. 8 player in Louisiana. Texas also has a pledge from Louisiana defensive back Hayward Howard. If both players end up signing, they would join Arch Manning, Derek Williams, Wardell Mack and Will Randle from The Boot.
