WATCH: Blair County animal shelter looking for person who abandoned dog
BLAIR COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — The Central Pennsylvania Humane Society (CPHS) wants to know who abandoned a dog at their shelter Thursday night.
It was all caught on camera and the shelter shared the video on social media saying they were left feeling upset and mad.
'All of us here at CPHS are feeling all the emotions right now,' the post on the humane society's Facebook read. 'We desperately need help identifying this individual.'
The disturbing video shows someone in a hoodie around 10:15 p.m. Thursday night getting out of a red vehicle with their dog on a leash. They proceed to walk around a bit before unhooking the dog and dropping it over the facility's fence.
The CPHS said the dog was outside without any food or water until a vet found it Friday morning.
'It's awful convenient timing for a person who was very careful about what they did with keeping their headlights off when they pulled in and when they left so we could not find a license plate. Hood up so you can't see their face either. So, it's just been difficult to identify,' Shelter Manager Dylan Kotrick said.
The humane society said the dog is doing okay and has been taking treats from the staff. They say if they can figure out who the person is they'll be pressing charges.
As of 7 p.m. Friday, the CPHS said they had a lot of individuals come forward with a lot of information about the incident which was provided to the police. Anyone with information is asked to contact the shelter.
