New Orleans Saints Lead NFL in Cap Space Gained After June 1st Roster Moves

New Orleans Saints Lead NFL in Cap Space Gained After June 1st Roster Moves originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The New Orleans Saints continue to get cap relief. The Saints are projected to earn the most cap relief thanks to June 1st designations, per Over The Cap. New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr (4) drops back to pass against the New York Giants during the first quarter at MetLife Stadium. Brad Penner-Imagn Images The big boost to the team's cap space is thanks to the retirements of All-Pro tackle Ryan Ramczyk and veteran quarterback Derek Carr. Carr's cap hit will drop from $20.46 million to either $13.458 million or $19.207 million pending the league's decision on the signing bonus Carr agreed to return. Advertisement Ramczyk's retirement is expected to return $1.25 million to the team with his dead money cap at $11.08 million. The Saints have remained disciplined during free agency and aren't expected to use their newly acquired money to make multiple big moves. New Orleans has been working towards getting cap-compliant for the 2026 offseason and will likely use their estimated $30 million in cap space to roll over in 2026. Despite the team's discipline in spending, there are multiple holes in the roster and the Saints could look to address their depth. The biggest name associated with New Orleans is free agent cornerback Asante Samuel Jr. who the team brought in for a visit in May. Samuel Jr. is scheduled to get a check-up in July and after could be a coveted free agent that New Orleans could target. Advertisement The Saints are in the midst of a soft rebuild and having the money roll over for the 2026 offseason is important. If Spencer Rattler or Tyler Shough end up being the team's quarterback of the future, having money to spend while their young quarterback is on a rookie contract will be pivotal to competing soon. EA College Football 26: 5 Things We Didn't Learn From The Reveal

EA College Football 26 There were a ton of details revealed on EA College Football 26 on Thursday, but there were at least five important things we didn't learn from the initial reveal. In case you missed it, here is a look at the official trailer announcing the game, which drops on July 10 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Last year's game had very few disappointments, but one significant issue was the inability to freely edit or create players. The level of customization that could be done to NIL players was minimal. This is somewhat understandable, considering the layers of obstacles EA had to overcome to bring college football back and to have real players. However, I'm unsure why users were limited in the way of options for created players' uniform numbers, names, and more. Once I start a Dynasty mode, I should have the freedom to change anything I want, especially if it's a local change exclusive to my PlayStation or Xbox. I'd love if those rosters were shareable, but I'd understand if that functionality was blocked for now. FEATURED | Frase ByForbes™ Unscramble The Anagram To Reveal The Phrase Pinpoint By Linkedin Guess The Category Queens By Linkedin Crown Each Region Crossclimb By Linkedin Unlock A Trivia Ladder I'm waiting to see if users will have more freedom on this front. It's great to see real coaches in the game. That will add another layer of legitimacy and immersion to the product. However, I'd like to be able to create new coaches and to replace the real ones if I choose. Having this option is along the same lines as editing and creating new players. We'll likely have to take some baby steps to get there, so I'm not expecting to have this in this year's game. Hopefully, it's on the roadmap. Last year's game had a good number of legends, but there were some obvious omissions. We know Reggie Bush, Tim Tebow, and Denard Robinson will be in the game, but what about people like Bo Jackson, Deion Sanders, and Tom Brady? Ultimate Team fans would pop for those legends. While having those legends added to Ultimate Team would be great, having the legends available throughout the game would be even better. In College Football and Madden, I would happily pay for the legends as DLC. I'd spend $19.99 without hesitation to have access to all legends in Dynasty and Franchise mode. And I don't think I'm alone. Let's see if this is the year EA allows users to have legends outside of Ultimate Team. This is one of the biggest questions for me. I won't go on a rant about how awesome it was to export graduating classes from NCAA Football into Madden back in the day. Most people reading this article already know that's the case. The question is: will this feature return to EA College Football 26? My fingers are crossed, but I must admit, I'm not overly optimistic. It feels like this feature would have been mentioned in the initial reveal if it were a part of this year's game. Until we hear an official word, I'll hold out some hope. However, as I mentioned, don't hold your breath.

EA College Football 26 Release Date, Cover Athletes, First Details

EA College Football 26 The highly anticipated official announcement for EA College Football 26 happened on Tuesday, and it came with a confirmation of the July 10 release date, cover athlete reveals, and a date for a full reveal of key features. That happens on May 29, but let's dig a little deeper into what was revealed in the first official news drop. Sophomore WRs and preliminary Heisman Trophy candidates, Ryan Williams of Alabama and Jeremiah Smith of Ohio State, are the Standard Edition cover stars. Over 13 games during his freshman season, Williams recorded 48 receptions for 865 yards and eight touchdowns, averaging 18.0 yards per catch. He was an overall threat anytime he had the ball in his hands, as he also contributed two rushing touchdowns. Smith was even more dominant as a freshman. In 16 games, he amassed 76 receptions for 1,315 yards and 15 touchdowns, averaging 17.3 yards per catch. He played a huge role in Ohio State's national championship run. 'As a lifelong fan of EA Sports games, being on the cover… is a dream come true.' – Ryan Williams 'I'm proud to represent Ohio State… celebrating the passion of our fans.' – Jeremiah Smith Both Williams and Smith figure to be two of the most high-profile players during the 2025 season, thus their selections as cover stars is fitting. The cover for the Deluxe Edition is more all-inclusive to the entire college football experience. The cover features college legends like Reggie Bush, Denard Robinson, Tim Tebow, mascots, and more current college football stars like Clemson's Cade Klubnik, Notre Dame's Jeremiyah Love, and Penn State's Nick Singleton. There's even real-life coaches like Kirby Smart, Marcus Freeman, and Ryan Day. The inclusion of coaches seems to signal some level of in-game inclusion for coaches in this year's game. We learned that there will be 136 FBS schools. This number is up two from last year's total of 134. The initial press release promises more authenticity across all athletes, stadiums, coaches, and fans, which is exciting considering last year's game went heavy on those concepts. The official announcement officially kicked off the pre-order period for the Standard, Deluxe, and MVP Bundle, which also includes Madden 26, which will launch in August, plus in-game bonuses. This year's game will be available for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, exclusively. This means there won't be a PC version or last-gen option for fans. Be on the lookout for more info on the full reveal on Thursday, May 29, when the world learns more about the details of this year's release.
