EFF leader Julius Malema has criticised the MK Party, Jacob Zuma, and the role of elderly politicians in South Africa's future.
Speaking at the party's Youth Day rally on Monday, held at the King Zwelithini Stadium in Umlazi, KwaZulu-Natal, Malema called on the youth to reject old leadership, specifically taking aim at former president Jacob Zuma and his newly formed MK Party.
'Comrades, you cannot lose power to an old man and say Zuma is the future. How can the old be the future?
'He never gave us jobs, and says he can give us jobs now. Now he says he will give you land. Why didn't he give you land when he was the president of South Africa?. We must stop believing simple lies.''
Addressing the youth directly, Malema highlighted that South Africa's future lies with younger generations.
'The youth at universities cannot allow themselves to be led by the old. The old must retire and the new must emerge and take over South Africa.'
Malema also condemned tribalism and warned against reducing KwaZulu-Natal to a 'tribalistic province.'
'Our people in KZN are not tribalist and they do not belong to some old man who wants to use tribalism to win over the hearts of our people.'
He criticised the MK Party's performance in KZN, where they received 45% of the provincial vote in the 2024 elections. 'What are they doing with that 45 percent? They are worse. They are not doing anything here in KZN.
He also took direct aim at the MK Party's parliamentary representatives, calling them ineffective. 'They are the most useless people,' Malema said. 'You must tell them when you see them that you are useless. We tried you and you are not delivering.'
Referring to MKP's controversial member, Malema mocked Papa Penny: 'When you vote for MK, you are voting for Peni Peni, the guy is just a clown. He's not supposed to be in parliament.'

Calling on supporters to build the EFF, he said: 'KZN belongs to the EFF. Every corner must be red.' Malema praised members for keeping the party alive and said: 'We are not scared of war, sizofela empini (we will die in war).'
Malema also positioned the EFF as a voice for the working class and youth: 'This organization is an organisation of farm workers, petroleum attendants, domestic workers, and students. Defend the EFF. When you defend the EFF, you are defending the land of our ancestors.'
Malema claimed the EFF poses a global threat to figures like Donald Trump and Elon Musk.
'Even Donald Trump is very scared of it. Even Elon Musk is very scared of this EFF. Starlink will never work here in South Africa for as long as the EFF exists.''
