EGX breaks its green streak by closing Wednesday trading on a mixed note

Cairo – May 28, 2025: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) broke its green streak by closing today's session with a mixed performance. Benchmark index EGX 30 was up by 0.3 percent during Wednesday's session, reaching 32,493.89 points. The Shariah index slipped by 0.07 percent to end the session with 3,342.37 points. EGX 70 dropped by 0.46 percent to hit 9,471.42 points, followed by EGX 100 declining by 0.37 percent to close the session with 12,914.67 points. Wednesday trading reported over 1.322 billion shares exchanged with a turnover of LE 4.944 billion. Market capitalization was recorded at LE 2.2859 trillion. Trading on securities saw Egyptian and Arab investors as net sellers with LE 33.2 million and LE 9.1 million, respectively. Foreign investors were net buyers with LE 42.3 million. The top gains of the session were by October Pharma which climbed by 16.35 percent, Misr National Steel – Ataqa by 7.41 percent, and The Egyptian Modern Education Systems by 7.09 percent.

Cairo – May 27, 2025: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed in its mid-week session in the green, with the Market capitalization recorded at LE 2.2,819 trillion. Benchmark index EGX 30 surged by 1.49 percent to reach 32,397.38 points. The Shariah index jumped by 1.98 percent to hit 3,344.55 points. EGX 70 was up by 0.93 percent to close the session with 9,515.52 points, followed by EGX 100 which climbed by 1.04 percent to reach 12,962.63 points. Tuesday trading reported over 1.406 billion shares exchanged with a turnover of LE 5.162 billion. Trading on securities saw Egyptian and foreign investors as net sellers with LE 13.1 million and LE 50.06 million, respectively. Arab traders were the sole net buyer with LE 63.23 million. The top gains of the session were by Misr National Steel – Ataqa which was up by 10.09 percent, Raya Holding For Financial Investments by 7.22 percent, and Beltone Holding by 6.76 percent.

Cairo – May 25, 2025: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) continues its positive performance from last week, closing Sunday's session with a now 4-day green streak. Benchmark index EGX 30 was up by 0.15 percent to end the session with 32,023.89 points. The Shairah index increased by 0.19 percent to reach 3,275.13 points. EGX jumped by 0.66 percent to close the session with 9,452.08 points, followed by EGX 100 rising by 0.61 percent to reach 12,854.25 points. Sunday trading reported over 1.374 billion shares exchanged with a turnover of LE 4.24 billion. Market capitalization hit LE 2.2567 trillion. Trading on securities saw Egyptian investors as the lone net buyer with LE 206.4 million. Arab and foreign traders were net sellers with LE 179.7 million and LE 26.7 million, respectively. The top gains of the session General Silos & Storage which jumped by 13 percent, Misr National Steel – Ataqa by 7.91 percent, and Iron And Steel for Mines and Quarries by 6.93 percent. The largest losses of the session were by Gogreen for Agricultural Investment which dropped by 5.88 percent, Sues Canal Company For Technology Settling by 5.85 percent, and The Arab Dairy Products Co. Arab Dairy – Panda by 3.84 percent.

Arab Finance: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) concluded Thursday's trading session higher, with the EGX30 index up by 0.44% to 31,975.63 points. Likewise, the Sharia-compliant index, EGX33 Shariah index, increased by 0.40% to 3,268.79 points. Both EGX70 and EGX100 indices also ended the session higher by 0.75% at 9,389.83 points and 0.69% at 12,776.68 points, respectively. The turnover totaled EGP 13.506 billion after 1.741 billion shares were exchanged over 100,012 transactions, while the market cap hit EGP 2.247 trillion. Retail investors made up 23.15% of the total trading, while the institutions controlled 76.84%. Egyptian investors took over 97.21% of the trading transactions, while foreign and Arab traders equaled 1.06% and 1.73%, respectively. Arab and foreign investors were sellers with EGP 88.080 million and EGP 55.136 million, respectively. Cairo – May 22, 2025: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) continues to rally, closing the week with a 3-day green streak. Benchmark index EGX 30 was up by 0.44 percent to hit 31,975.63 points. The Shariah index rose similarly, rising 0.4 percent to reach 3,268.79 points. EGX 70 climbed by 0.75 percent to close the session with 9,389.83 points, followed by EGX 100 jumping by 0.69 percent to reach 12, 776.68 points. Thursday trading reported 1.741 billion shares exchanged with a turnover of LE 13.506 billion. Market capitalization rose to record LE 2.2476 trillion. Egyptian and Arab investors were net sellers during the session with LE 21.282 billion and LE 237.2 million, respectively. Foreign traders were the sole net buyers with LE 21.519 billion. The top gains of the session were by Upper Egypt Flour Mills which surged by 16.69 percent, East Delta Flour Mills by 12.41 percent, and Universal For Paper and Packaging Materials (Unipack) by 11.97 percent. The US dollar continued to slip against the Egyptian Pound, with a modest drop since Wednesday's close, hitting its lowest rate in the past few months. The LE is currently LE 49.89 against the greenback, down from yesterday's close of LE 49.93. (May 22, 3 PM). Since the start of the current month, the USD had been facing a consecutive downward trend, losing nearly LE 1.8 in recent weeks.
