The young team took part in the training session to prepare for the five matches. This Test series will also mark the beginning of the 2025-27 ICC World Test Championship (WTC) cycle for Team India. This series is also the beginning of a new era for Indian cricket, as legendary players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have retired from Test cricket. Lord's Cricket Ground will host the third Test starting on July 10. Old Trafford and Kennington Oval will host the fourth and fifth Tests of the series respectively. Gill has been appointed as India's 37th Test captain after Rohit Sharma retired from Tests. Gill has opened for India in Tests and has also played as a number three batsman. In 32 Tests, Gill has scored 1893 runs, including five centuries and seven half-centuries to his name.
