Ma'an spotlights 11 social enterprises on a mission to create meaningful change

10 Apr 2025 02:08 SARA ALZAABI (ABU DHABI) Eleven social enterprises took centre stage as the Authority of Social Contribution Ma'an participated in the AIM Congress 2025, a three-day conference held in Abu Dhabi from April 7 to 9. Ma'an's presence at this summit underscores its commitment to fostering a culture of social impact, said Rahma Al Kamali, Social Incubation Manager at Ma'an. "We aim to open market access for social enterprises under the Ma'an umbrella, including those from our incubator programmes, supporting them throughout their entrepreneurial journeys." Working across different sectors, the highlighted enterprises are all united by their dedication to social good, Al Kamali said. "These enterprises have been officially certified as Social Enterprises. This certificate strengthens their mission to create meaningful societal change through recognition and various incentives." Al Kamali said in an interview with Aletihad. Some of them focus on empowering the youth while others support people of determination, she added. "Many tackle other critical social challenges. Together, they represent the innovative and inclusive spirit of Abu Dhabi's growing social enterprise ecosystem." The 11 social enterprises that participated in the AIM Congress include the following: EYouth A leading MENA ed-tech startup, EYouth offers more than 10,000 learning hours and empowering more than 3 million youth across 21 countries. "We are an ed-tech leader in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, focused on upskilling youth and preparing them for the job market," said Salwa Al Tamimi and Alreem Al Kaabi from EYouth. "Our programmes provide free, Google-certified courses for UAE citizens, supporting job-seekers, small business owners, and SMEs. We have trained 3 million young Arabs across 21 countries, bridging the gap between youth and the evolving job market." FUSE, The Farms, and FortyGuard FUSE is making green transport more accessible by converting petrol cars into electric vehicles, while The Farms is advancing food security through year-round, pesticide-free indoor farming. The FortyGuard uses an artificial intelligence-powered heat map to make smarter, cooler cities as solutions to urban heat. D2C App, Circa Biotech, IvvestIn the climate front, the D2C App allows its users to analyse and slash their carbon footprints and, therefore, creating a measurable impact on businesses. Circa Biotech is incorporating food waste into animal feed through insect farming, which is absolutely eco-friendly. Another environmental enterprise, Ivvest, presents and develops indoor farming solutions that are accessible, scalable, modular, profitable and affordable. WonderTree, Mashyah In education and therapy, WonderTree facilitates learning through AR-powered games for learning-challenged children, while Mashyah uses smart tools for motion analysis to enhance outcome in rehabilitation.
