Husband predicts N.C. woman's $150,000 lottery win

June 13 (UPI) -- A North Carolina woman said her husband predicted she would "hit the big one" just before she scored a $150,000 lottery prize. Nashville resident Patricia Battle told North Carolina Education Lottery officials her husband predicted a big win was in her future. "He always tells me, 'You're going to hit the big one, baby,'" she said. "He told me yesterday, too, before I got the ticket." Battle visited the EZ Stop on East Washington Street in Nashville and selected a $5 Super Loteria ticket. "Something just told me to get that ticket," she recalled. The player was shocked to reveal a $150,000 prize. "I was so nervous I couldn't even drive home," she said.

Husband told wife she would win big in lottery. Then his prediction came true

A husband told his wife she would win a big lottery prize — then his prediction came true. Patricia Battle was thrilled to learn that her North Carolina scratch-off ticket was worth $150,000. 'I was so nervous I couldn't even drive home,' the lucky winner told the N.C. Education Lottery in a June 13 news release. Battle hit the jackpot after a trip to the EZ Stop store in the town of Nashville, a roughly 45-mile drive northeast from Raleigh. While there, she spent $5 on a ticket for the Super Loteria game. 'Something just told me to get that ticket,' she said in the release. Battle 'could barely control her excitement' after she scored one of the game's six top prizes. It's something her husband thought would happen, according to lottery officials. 'He always tells me, 'You're going to hit the big one baby,'' Battle said. 'He told me yesterday too before I got the ticket.' Battle, who lives in Nashville, kept $107,626 after taxes. It's not the first time someone's hunch was spot on. Another North Carolina lottery player 'had a feeling' he would win a huge prize before he got richer, McClatchy News reported June 12.
