4th annual Earth Day Springfield Festival featured Grammy-nominated singer

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The fourth annual Earth Day Springfield Festival was held on Saturday, April 26th in Jordan Valley Park The event featured food and entertainment, including a live concert from Grammy-nominated artist, Sierra Hull. There were over 20 different booths from various environmental groups that provided information on current issues and how to act. Molly Healey, President of Earth Day Springfield, says that the goal was to create an eco-friendly festival that will fund environmental causes. 'We are plastic free, and we compost all of our food waste, and we raise money for our local environmental organizations,' Healey says. 'And that is why we have ticket prices, because we take those proceeds, and we donate them to local environmental organizations so we can try to make a difference here in our community.' According to Dan Chiles with The Ozark Society, events like these can influence change in communities. 'We have to show up and make sure that people are aware of the risk that we're facing, but also the opportunities.' Chiles continues, 'And really what's kind of cool about today is not just old people like me, but there's a lot of young people here and they're here to support the environment and listen to good music.' The next festival will be on April 25, 2026. More details and announcements can be found on Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
