Halliburton secures five-year contract with Repsol Resources UK

Halliburton has been awarded a five-year contract by Repsol Resources UK to enhance the full well life cycle at Repsol's platform assets in the UK North Sea. Under the agreement, Halliburton will provide a comprehensive suite of services including subsurface technology, drilling, completion services and digital solutions. The partnership will see Halliburton delivering a rigless intervention framework designed to optimise well construction, production and intervention processes. This strategic approach is expected to maximise the efficiency of plug and abandonment (P&A) operations, an aspect of decommissioning efforts in the North Sea. Halliburton Europe vice-president Timothy Horsfall said: 'This collaboration between Halliburton and Repsol Resources UK marks a strategic milestone. The efforts to maximise the remaining potential of the UK North Sea align with our focus to provide safe and reliable P&A operations.' In May, Halliburton introduced EarthStar 3DX, a 3D horizontal look-ahead resistivity service. This technology marks an advancement in drilling, allowing operators to gain valuable geological insights up to 50ft ahead of the drill bit. The service is equipped with the industry's nearest-to-bit, ultra-deep resistivity sensor, enabling the early detection of formations and enhancing operational safety. Furthermore, in February, Halliburton and Sekal announced the deployment of an automated on-bottom drilling system for Equinor in the North Sea. This system combines Halliburton's LOGIX automation and remote operations with Sekal's Drilltronics solution and the rig automation control system. The integration of these technologies is aimed at optimising drilling parameters and improving the accuracy of well placement in real time. Halliburton Introduces EarthStar 3DX for Advanced Reservoir Mapping

Halliburton Company (NYSE:HAL), a leading provider of products, services, and integrated solutions, has strengthened its edge on reservoir mapping technology in the oil and gas industry. On May 19, the company launched EarthStar 3DX, the industry's first 3D horizontal look-ahead resistivity service. An employee at their desk surrounded by financial documents and a laptop analyzing the stock market. The new reservoir mapping technology is designed to make it easy for operators to obtain geological insights into horizontal wells up to 50 feet. EarthStar 3DX's competitive edge stems from its ability to provide real-time data, allowing operators to identify hazards inside wells and make informed decisions. The ground-breaking technology will offer substantial advantages by enabling operators to modify healthy trajectories to reduce risk, enhance wellbore placement, and expand reservoir contact. The technology also provides early intervention measures to alleviate wellbore instability issues and promote safe and effective operations. The unveiling of the game-changing reservoir mapping technology comes against Halliburton's warning that tariffs could impact drilling activities in the oil industry. Many of the company's customers are evaluating their drilling activities and plans. Weak oil prices have exacerbated the situation, sending the stock down 24% year. The company has already warned that its earnings could take a hit of between 2 cents and 3 cents due to trade tensions. Halliburton unveils EarthStar 3DX resistivity service

Halliburton has introduced EarthStar 3DX, a 3D horizontal look-ahead resistivity service, marking an advancement in drilling technology. This service allows operators to gain geological insights into horizontal wells up to 50ft ahead of the drill bit, enhancing decision-making and operational safety. The EarthStar 3DX service boasts the industry's nearest-to-bit, ultra-deep resistivity sensor, which facilitates the early detection of formations. This capability is a departure from traditional mapping technologies as it enables operators to foresee changes in the formation, optimise reservoir contact, maximise hydrocarbon recovery, and minimise unnecessary course corrections and premature exits from the wellbore, the company said. Halliburton Sperry Drilling vice-president Jim Collins said: 'EarthStar 3DX service is the latest example of Halliburton's leadership in reservoir mapping technology. True to our value proposition, we customise our subsurface and drilling solutions to maximise asset value for our customers. "By mapping geological variations before they are encountered, operators can adjust well trajectories to minimise risk, improve wellbore placement and increase reservoir contact.' In a separate development, Halliburton and its partner Rhino Resources delivered two exploration wells in Block 2914 within Petroleum Exploration Licence 85 offshore Namibia. Also, in February, Halliburton and Sekal deployed what they describe as the world's first automated on-bottom drilling system for Equinor in the North Sea. This system integrates Halliburton's LOGIX automation and remote operations with Sekal's Drilltronics solution and the rig's automation control system. The partnership is focused on optimising drilling parameters and enhancing the accuracy of well placement in real time.
