Bournemouth beach huts engulfed by fire
Firefighters fought a large blaze overnight that engulfed several beach Fire and Rescue crews tackled the fire on East Beach, Undercliff Drive, on the Bournemouth Fire Station said the incident was "generating a lot of smoke", and advised nearby residents to keep doors and windows closed as a fire has now been extinguished but a number of huts have been destroyed.
Partially damaged at the site is also the UK's first council-owned beach hut, which is adorned with a blue traditional-style hut, located 500 ft (150m) east of Bournemouth Pier, was built in 1909 by F P Dolamore - the borough engineer at the time.
