EAST LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WWLP) – The East Longmeadow Fire Department was sent to Chestnut Street for a reported fire on Thursday. Three without a home, three cats rescued in Chicopee fire The East Longmeadow Fire Department told 22News that at 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, crews were sent to 301 Chestnut Street, Lenox Manufacturing, for a report of smoke in the building. Mutual aid was called from Wilbraham, Shaker Pines, and Longmeadow to assist due to the size of the building and the amount of smoke they found once they arrived. A faulty exhaust unit on the roof was deemed to be the cause of the smoke. All crews were cleared from the fire 90 minutes later. High winds spread brush fire to Wilbraham barn

WILBRAHAM, Mass. (WWLP) – Multiple crews were sent to a rapidly spreading brush fire on Main Street in Wilbraham over the weekend. Wilbraham man indicted for alleged threats made to officials on social media On Saturday, fire crews were sent to Main Street for a report of a brush fire, the Wilbraham Fire Department states. Due to the high wind conditions, the fire quickly spread to a nearby barn. When crews arrived, the barn was completely on fire. The fire was deemed accidental and was not related to open burning. Mutual aid from the East Longmeadow Fire Department, Hampden Fire Department, Palmer Fire Department, Ludlow Fire Department, and Monson Fire Department were called to help put out the flames. There is no word on if there were any injuries or the cause of the fire at this time.
