East Lothian emergency services launch response after 'spate of fires' at beauty spot
Emergency services in East Lothian have banded together after a 'spate of fires' at a popular beauty spot.
Police Scotland, The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and East Lothian Council Countryside Rangers held a 'joint initiative' which will continue in the coming months. This comes after a string of blazes, and antisocial behaviour, at John Muir Country Park.
The first response was held on Friday night and saw police officers on quad bikes patrolling the area as well as three on foot and two in a mobile unit.

"Unfortunately the SFRS had to leave early for an emergency. It's encouraging to note that the advice was well received with those we spoke with and we hope that going forward they will continue to have fun, but in a responsible manner.
"We will continue with these joint initiatives in the coming months."
