Local Congressmen reintroduce train derailment bill
EAST PALESTINE, Ohio (WKBN)- Two Valley Congressmen have reintroduced a bill that would study the long-term health impacts of the East Palestine train derailment.
Congressmen Dave Joyce and Michael Rulli and two democrats reintroduced the bill last week. It has been referred to the House Committee on Energy and Commerce.
The East Palestine Health Impact Act calls for a five-year study on the long-term health impacts caused by the derailment.
Joyce introduced the same legislation last year, but it never got a hearing in the committee.
