East Syracuse Minoa students to present 'Anastasia: The Musical'
(WSYR-TV) — East Syracuse Minoa's Spartan Stage students are taking us back to the 1920s. They have been working hard on their latest production, 'Anastasia: The Musical,' and they are gearing up to show it to Central New York next week.
Aimee Deberjeois, director, and cast members, Emma Deberjeois, Ryan Sullivan and Aaron Ali, joined Bridge Street to share a preview.
The show will feature stunning costumes plus dazzling ballroom and 1920s party dancing set during the twilight of the Russian Empire.
The stage adaptation is based on the 1997 animated film, which follows Anya, a young woman with amnesia, as she searches for her true identity and family. She teams up with a conman and ex-aristocrat to fight a Soviet officer who is determined to silence her in her journey.
ESM's 'Anastasia: The Musical' will hit the stage February 27 and 28 at 7 p.m. and March 1 at 2 at 7 p.m. in the East Syracuse Minoa Central High School auditorium.
