Karoline Leavitt shares rare glimpse into family life as husband 32 years her senior cradles son at Mar-A-Lago
Karoline Leavitt has shared a rare glimpse into her family life with a series of sweet snaps over the weekend. The White House Press Secretary, 27, took to Instagram to document her sunny weekend in Palm Beach, Florida, with husband Nicholas Riccio, 59, and their young son Niko. The family spent the weekend at Donald Trump 's Mar-A-Lago and Leavitt captured adorable photos from the occasion. One picture showed the political aide smiling on a green couch while she held her young son, who was dressed in a cute checkered onesie, on her lap. In the second snap, Nicholas - who is 32 years Karoline's senior - also stepped into the frame as the trio posed in front of a pool at sunset. Karoline captured another heartwarming photo of her spouse dressed more informally while cradling Niko and kissing his cheek. And the final picture in her adorable carousel simply alluded to the family relaxing on sun loungers while draped under towels. The mom-of-one captioned the post: 'Weekends in Palm Beach.' Nicholas - who is 32 years Karoline's senior - also stepped into the frame as the trio posed in front of a pool at sunset Karoline has previously addressed her 'very atypical love story' with her husband who is 32 years her senior. The Press Secretary spoke with Megyn Kelly about their romance and how they first met. 'I met my husband during my Congressional Campaign. A mutual friend of ours hosted an event at a restaurant that he owns up in New Hampshire and invited my husband,' she detailed in the interview. 'I was speaking. We met and we were acquainted as friends. And then we fell in love.' When The Megyn Kelly Show host asked if there had been any thought in her mind of 'I can't date him, he's 59 and I'm 27?' Karoline confirmed that she had dealt with those initial doubts about how the 32-year age gap would impact the relationship. 'Yes, of course. I mean it's a very atypical love story but he's incredible,' she gushed. 'He is my greatest supporter, he's my best friend and he's my rock.' The political aide continued: 'He's built a very successful business himself so now he's fully supportive of me building my success in my career. 'He's the father of my child and he's the best dad I could ever ask for. And he is so supportive, especially during a very chaotic period of life.' The pair got engaged in December 2023, with Karoline writing at the time: 'The best Christmas of my life. I get to marry the man of my dreams. I feel SO overwhelmingly BLESSED. Thank you, God.' The pair officially tied the knot in January 2025, days before President Donald Trump's inauguration. They went on to welcome their son on July 10, 2024. Karoline made another appearance with her husband and son during the White House Easter Egg roll hosted by the president in April. Her husband looked age-defying in a tan-colored suit and purple tie, while wheeling their son, who was dressed in baby blue, in a stroller around the South Lawn.

'Wouldn't tolerate it': House Republican calls second Hegseth Signal report 'unacceptable'
Rep. Don Bacon, R-Neb., on Monday signaled he wouldn't tolerate Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth allegedly once again sharing sensitive information about military operations in a Signal group chat. "If the reporting is true, this is unacceptable. I would never tell the White House what to do, but I wouldn't tolerate it," Bacon told Fox News Digital, reiterating his comments first reported by Politico. Bacon, a retired military officer and Republican on the House Armed Services Committee, said it would be "unacceptable" if Hegseth sent classified information in a Signal chat about a mission in Yemen targeting the Houthis. The New York Times reported on Sunday that Hegseth shared information about the March 15 strikes in Yemen in a private Signal group chat that included his wife, brother and personal lawyer, claiming they were essentially the same plans shared in the separate Signal chat that included an editor of The Atlantic. White House Rips Alleged Pentagon Leakers' 'Shattered Egos,' Brushes Off Hegseth Second Signal Chat Report Bacon told Politico he had reservations about Hegseth's experience since his nomination, and while a spokesperson for Bacon's office emphasized to Fox News Digital that he would not tell President Donald Trump to fire Hegseth, Bacon said he "wouldn't tolerate" the latest Hegseth reporting if he was the commander in chief. Ex-pentagon Aide Urges Trump To Fire Hegseth, Citing 'Full-blown Meltdown' And 'Total Chaos' Read On The Fox News App White House officials have joined Hegseth in denying the reporting. "No matter how many times the legacy media tries to resurrect the same nonstory, they can't change the fact that no classified information was shared. Recently fired 'leakers' are continuing to misrepresent the truth to soothe their shattered egos and undermine the president's agenda, but the administration will continue to hold them accountable," White House spokesperson Anna Kelly told Fox News Digital. Trump himself shut down the reporting, calling it "fake news" and touting recruitment rates and Hegseth's leadership of the armed forces. "The president stands strongly behind Secretary Hegseth, who is doing a phenomenal job leading the Pentagon," White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said on Fox News on Monday. Hegseth lamented "disgruntled employees" and "anonymous smears" when pressed by reporters during the White House Easter Egg roll about the latest Signal controversy. "This is why we're fighting the fake news media. This group right here is full of hoaxsters," Hegseth said. The Trump administration has maintained that no classified material was transmitted in the Signal chat reported by The Atlantic. Trump's Easter message showcases his easy way with denouncing ‘Radical Left Lunatics'
A vision of American pastoral life visited the south lawn of the White House on Monday as US president Donald Trump hosted the centuries-old tradition of the White House Easter Egg roll. It was an hour or two of almost-escapism for the Trump administration from its ongoing ideological battles with its political adversaries and the Supreme Court amid its ongoing ambition to reshape the future of the United States . President Trump and the first lady, Melania Trump, stepped out onto the balcony of the south portico just before 11am. The scene that faced them was that of a perfectly synchronised American idyll. Children, befrocked and best-shirted, engaged in the ancient frivolity of rolling painted Easter eggs with wooden spoons while parents looked on. The US Army Old Guard and Fife and Drum Corps had played a series of traditional military tunes before the president's Own Marine Band entertained the crowd with jazz riffs. The columns and arch of the south portico were wreathed in floral bouquets of Easter hues. The south lawn was a riot of colour. During his balcony address, Trump remembered Pope Francis, telling the gathering he had just signed an executive order that all federal and state flags fly at half-mast in mourning after the pontiff's passing. 'He's a very good man who loved the world and he especially loved people that were having a hard time, and that's good with me.' READ MORE Then, President Trump moved through his people and demonstrated once again his unique ability to issue messages that intermingle darkness and light. The sentiments of his Easter message, posted on Truth Social, were laden with the preoccupations of the administration as it attempts to fend off increasing criticisms of its deportation policy, most recently involving the case of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, the El Salvadoran man who was arrested by Ice (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) officials in Maryland and deported back to his country. Maryland democratic senator Chris van Hollen on Sunday returned from El Salvador after visiting Garcia. Four Democratic House representatives arrived there on Monday, to push for his release on the grounds that he was wrongly deported and denied due process. The Supreme Court has ordered his return. The Trump administration is insisting that Garcia is a member of the terrorist group MS 13. That controversy informed the opening paragraph of President Trump's Easter blessing, posted on Sunday. 'Happy Easter to all, including the Radical Left Lunatics who are fighting and scheme so hard to bring murderers, drug lords, dangerous prisoners, the mentally insane, and well-known MS 13 gang members and wife beaters back into our country. Happy Easter also to the weak and ineffective judges and law enforcement officials who are allowing this sinister attack on our nation to continue.' Photograph: Anna Moneymaker/Getty Early on Monday morning, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told Fox News that the return of Garcia is 'never going to happen'. 'Not only is this an MS 13 gang member, but he is also an illegal alien who broke this country's laws to come here. We have a legal immigration system for a reason. The president is going to continue to uphold that.' Leavitt attended the Easter Roll festivities with her husband and young family. Also present was FBI director Kash Patel and defence secretary Pete Hegseth , who was once again the source of news stories that he had shared classified military information in a group chat, that this time included family members . 'Here we go again,' Trump said, his features clouding at a question. 'Just a waste of time. Pete's doing a great job. Ask the Houthis how he is doing. Everybody is happy with him. We have had the highest recruitment numbers we have had in years. It is just fake news. They bring up stories - it sounds like disgruntled employees. He was put there to get rid of a lot of bad people, so that's what he is doing.' As he moved through the various fenced-off sections of the carnival, Trump supervised the egg races and sat down at a table to join kids with crayons and colouring pads. It was clear the moment tickled him. 'I'm really into this. It's tough, We don't have a white crayon, so what am I going to do? Leave the whole thing white, I guess.' Trump would have known that the moment will be seized upon by the late-night talk show satirists. But he has an easy, comfortable way about him with youngsters. He continued to move through the fair. From the portico, he had thanked the parks service 'for making everything so beautiful and spiffy - and I'm very difficult when it comes to that'. And as he made his way back indoors, he continued addressing his broad vision for making America beautiful and spiffy, too. The price of eggs had, over election year, become a metaphor for the cost-of-living crisis that has gripped all of the states. Some 30,000 eggs were used for this White House Easter Roll extravaganza - which was, for the first time, sponsored by corporations including Meta and Amazon. The American Eggs Board confirmed that the eggs used were smaller than those used for general consumption. Meanwhile, President Trump reiterated his conviction that falling egg prices are just the beginning. 'We'll be fine. We will ultimately have a deal. Energy is down the most it's been in years. It's actually a dollar-ninety-eight [per gallon of fuel] recently in a couple of states. I think we are doing really well. We're all set. There's a little bit of transition and it's going to happen. I think we are going to be the strongest we have ever been as a nation.' Elsewhere, the first lady read Bunny With A Big Heart by Marilyn Sadler in the reading nook. It's a parable of a forgetful rabbit who injures himself, has an enforced period of recuperation, and learns to be kinder to his family. In the garden, babies cried and older children laughed as the games continued. The rain held off. Delighted parents took photographs for the albums. And for posterity.
