How Prince William and Kate Middleton Are Spending Their 14th Anniversary
Originally appeared on E! Online and are going back to where it all started. To celebrate their 14th wedding anniversary April 29, the Prince and Princess of Wales—who are parents to , 11, , 9, and , 7—took a trip down memory lane. Or in this case, Scotland, where they first met and fell in love while studying at the University of St. Andrews. The couple arrived in Tobermory—a small town on the Isle of Mull—both dressed in blue button-down shirts and fashionable blazers. And during their trip, the pair plans to spend time visiting community hubs, per videos posted to their joint account on X, as well as learning about sustainable farming practices and 'celebrating the power of community and connection.' After all, the country holds a great deal of significance for both William and Kate. 'Scotland is incredibly important to me and will always have a special place in my heart,' William said during the Opening Ceremony of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland in 2021. 'I've been coming to Scotland since I was a small boy. As I grew up, I saw how my grandmother relishes every minute she spends here. And my father is never happier than when walking among the hills.' 'Needless to say, the town where you meet your future wife holds a very special place in your heart.' Indeed, the couple's meaningful trip back to Scotland comes as a rare joint outing as the pair decided to spend Easter weekend at their country home in Norfolk with their kids while several other members of the royal family proceeded with the annual Easter Matlins service at St George Chapel in Windsor. Kate has been slowly returning to her public duties over the last several months after undergoing chemotherapy last year. "It is a relief to now be in remission and I remain focused on recovery," Kate, who shared she had been diagnosed with cancer in March 2024, wrote on X in January. "As anyone who has experienced a cancer diagnosis will know, it takes time to adjust to a new normal." "I am however looking forward to a fulfilling year ahead," she continued. "There is much to look forward to. Thank you to everyone for your continued support." But through it all, William made sure to gush about his wife at every opportunity, sharing a rare PDA photo of the two of them on Valentine's Day as well as the sweetest tribute for Kate's birthday the month before. 'To the most incredible wife and mother,' the 42-year-old wrote alongside a photo of his wife shared to the couple's official social media platforms earlier this year. 'The strength you've shown over the last year has been remarkable. George, Charlotte, Louis and I are so proud of you. Happy Birthday, Catherine. We love you. W.' Prince William and Kate Middleton Skip Royal Family's Easter Service
Originally appeared on E! Online A few familiar faces were royally missed during this holiday outing. Prince William, his wife Kate Middleton and their children Prince George, 11, , 9, and , 6, did not join and Queen Camilla for the royal family's annual Easter Matlins service at St George's Chapel in Windsor April 20. The Prince and Princess of Wales are instead spending the weekend at their country home in Norfolk with their kids, who are still on a break from school, according to multiple reports. The service was attended by several members of the Royal family, including Princess Anne and husband Sir Timothy Laurence, Prince Edward and wife Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, and Prince Andrew and ex-wife Sarah Ferguson and their daughters Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice. In addition to William and Kate, Anne's son Peter Phillips, daughter Zara Tindall and her husband Mike Tindall, and Edward and Sophie's daughter Lady Louise were also absent from the event. His participation in this year's holiday event comes three weeks after he was briefly hospitalized following a routine appointment in his cancer treatment. "Following scheduled and ongoing medical treatment for cancer this morning, The King experienced temporary side effects that required a short period of observation in hospital,' Buckingham Palace said in a statement obtained by E! News March 27. 'His Majesty's afternoon engagements were therefore postponed." The 76-year-old later released a holiday message. "There are three virtues that the world still needs — faith, hope and love. And the greatest of these is love,' he wrote in an April 17 statement on his website. "It is with these timeless truths in my mind, and my heart, that I wish you all a blessed and peaceful Easter."
