Easthampton aims to enhance transparency with new public records management
EASTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – The City of Easthampton has partnered with a new online platform designed to streamline and accelerate the management and exchange of record requests for government agencies and law enforcement. Public records can be made at which allows users to submit and track requests through their account. Easthampton officials say they implemented this technology to provide transparency, efficiency, and better service to the community. They aim to reduce response times, ensure compliance with public records laws, and enhance the overall experience for requesters. Easthampton Fire Department teams with Baystate Health for blood drive 'We are proud to take this step toward modernizing our public records process. allows us to meet the needs of our community more effectively while reinforcing our commitment to transparency and accountability. We believe this tool will greatly improve how we interact with the public and handle their requests,' said Easthampton Clerk Mary Ann Giza. Easthampton, along with five other Massachusetts cities, has this technology in place, including Chicopee, Hadley, Holyoke, Springfield, and Plymouth. Easthampton offering free smoke detector installations
EASTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – The Easthampton Fire Department is installing free smoke detectors for residents. Crews put out attic fire in Easthampton home For several years, the Red Cross has worked with local fire departments, installing hundreds of smoke detectors in homes. To be considered, your home must be built before 1975, your current detectors must be over 10-years-old, and you need to own the home you're applying for. Alarms are crucial home safety tools and should be installed on every level of your house. It is important to get alarms from a well-known national brand that is listed by an independent laboratory like Underwriters Laboratories (UL) or Intertek (ETL). When installing a new smoke alarm, get a replacement with a sealed, long-life battery and a hush feature. Crews put out attic fire in Easthampton home
EASTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – Crews in Easthampton were sent to an attic fire early Wednesday morning. Fire engulfs home on Dubois Street in Westfield due to lack of water supply The Easthampton Fire Department states that crews received a 911 call at around 12:20 a.m. for a report of a house fire. When crews arrived, they found a fire in the attic area. All of the occupants were evacuated by police while firefighters began to work on putting out the fire. The cause of the fire is being investigated by Easthampton Fire, Easthampton Police, and the State Fire Marshals Office. There is no word on if there were any injuries. Northampton Fire, Southampton Fire, Holyoke Fire, South Hadley District 1, Barnes Air National Guard, Westover Fire Department, and Easthampton CERT assisted in putting out the fire.
