Feel the love? JoJo Siwa and Chris Hughes of ‘Celebrity Big Brother' are ‘head over heels'
JoJo Siwa and Chris Hughes are a real couple-couple, not merely platonic 'soulmates,' the former 'Dance Moms' star says. 'It's not platonic anymore,' the 22-year-old told the Guardian in an interview published Monday, 'and it's been a beautiful development, a beautiful connection, and I'm absolutely head over heels for him and he's the same way.' She said she had a feeling that her recent stint on the U.K. version of 'Celebrity Big Brother' would be transformative. 'Little did I know it was going to change my personal life so much,' she told the outlet. 'By a landslide, it is the best thing that's ever happened to me.' The breakout 'Dance Moms' personality met the 32-year-old British 'Love Island' veteran on Season 24 of the reality competition, which aired in April. Hughes stepped up to support Siwa after fellow celebrity Mickey Rourke asked her on camera early on whether she liked boys or girls and said that he would 'vote the lesbian out real quick.' Rourke later told Siwa on 'Big Brother' that it took him '23 years of therapy to get almost normal' and the two appeared to become sort of friends before Big Brother sent the actor home. Siwa told the Guardian that Rourke had explained to her in private that he knew what he was doing and had been trying to get under her skin. Siwa came out in 2021 at age 17 wearing a black tee emblazoned with the words 'BEST. GAY. COUSIN. EVER.' A day later, she sort of clarified which 'label' she identified with by saying essentially that she didn't know yet. 'The reason why I'm not ready to say this answer is because I don't really know this answer,' the dancer and singer said in an Instagram Live, according to Autostraddle. 'I think humans are awesome. I think humans are really incredible people. I, right now, am super duper happy and I want to share everything with the world, I really do, but I also want to keep things in my life private until they're ready to be public.' When she went into the 'Celebrity Big Brother' house, Siwa was in a relationship with Kath Ebbs, who identifies as nonbinary. During the run of the show, Siwa told a few members of the group that she was 'not comfortable' putting a label on herself 'because I'm not sure' what it would be. Days later, she said, 'I think I've always told myself I'm a lesbian. But I think being here, I've realized, 'Oh no, I'm not a lesbian. I'm queer.' And I think that's really cool.' She then announced, 'I'm switching letters! F— the L — I'm going to the Q. That's what I love about sexuality.' Ebbs eventually flew to the U.K. for the show's wrap party, only to get dumped by Siwa at said party. 'Everything we sort of saw unfold on what I thought was a fake reality show where I didn't need to worry about the validity of my relationship was in fact laced in a lot of truth,' Ebbs said, per Autostraddle, 'Which has been one of the most craziest intense awful horrific experiences I've gone through in my adult life.' Later in May, Ebbs seemed like she was still rattled, posting a gallery on social media with quotes including ' 'are u ok' yea but can we change the topic before i cry ' and 'so far 2025 feels like being awake during surgery.' Meanwhile, thanks to Hughes, Siwa told the Guardian that 'the happiness in my life just radiates off of me right now. Literally yesterday, I was massaging my cheeks; I've never [before] been in pain from smiling so much.' (As fans might remember, she actually said her face hurt from smiling so much way back in 2021, after coming out, during the interview where she clarified her no-label status.) As for Hughes, a week ago, he posted a gallery of photos on Instagram that included numerous shots of himself and Siwa together, all booed up and looking boyfriendy-girlfriendy. That plus a shot of a bowl of SpaghettiOs. 'The previous 7 days have been the prettiest,' his caption said.

Kath Ebbs, JoJo Siwa and the cost of people's lives becoming entertainment
For weeks, the name 'Kath Ebbs' is all over my TikTok. Ebbs, an Australian actor, presenter, writer and content creator, is also at the centre of international news headlines, their smiling face plastered on the homepages of TMZ and People and OK! Magazine. While Ebbs (who uses they/them pronouns) has had a somewhat public career, they're not used to this kind of fame. The kind that compromises your privacy and your safety. The kind that involves being hounded by journalists overseas, being tagged in tens of thousands of comments, being fodder for a viral conversation online. Millions of people around the globe are clicking on Ebbs' name, but Kath Ebbs, the person, is not OK. When I meet them about a fortnight after the storm has died down, Ebbs describes it as 'some of the darkest times mentally that I've had in my adult life – really distressing, really confusing, really overwhelming'. Six months ago, Ebbs started dating American singer, dancer, actress and media personality JoJo Siwa. Siwa, 21, first appeared on popular reality show Dance Moms when she was 11 years of age, and has since released music that has been streamed billions of times. Siwa's line of hair bows were so popular that schools in Britain had to ban them. She's featured in films and TV shows on Nickelodeon, performed world tours, competed on The Masked Singer in the US, as well as Dancing with the Stars, and has been a judge on So You Think You Can Dance. In April this year, with her relationship with Ebbs already in the public eye, Siwa flew to London and entered the Celebrity Big Brother UK house. The attention began when Siwa appeared – on international television screens and in countless social media clips – to be falling in love with English TV personality and sports presenter Chris Hughes. Then, following the finale and the afterparty, where Ebbs was dumped in a 'humiliating' way, the attention turned to the fallout. And fallout is blockbuster entertainment. Ebbs posted a 13-minute video that they deleted, then re-uploaded, then deleted again. Siwa addressed the break-up in podcast and television interviews. This fallout caught fire and followers, and even those who didn't follow, couldn't help but read and inhale content about this high-profile lesbian relationship. Last year, actor Blake Lively started trending on TikTok for her 'tone-deaf' promotional tour for the film It Ends with Us. A few clips were stitched together to build an image of someone who was behaving in a way that was too cavalier, too self-involved, too light-hearted for a movie about domestic violence. Loading

Jojo Siwa's love shuffle: ditching Kath Ebbs for Chris Hughes – what really happened?
Jojo Siwa and Kath Ebbs have ended their relationship following speculation about Siwa's involvement with Chris Hughes. Image: Instagram US singer and dancer Jojo Siwa sparked online buzz over the past few weeks after she seemingly established a relationship with US sports presenter Chris Hughes on "Celebrity Big Brother UK". The pair were seen developing a close bond in the house and portrayed more than just a friendship vibe, despite the 'Dance Moms' star being in a relationship with Australian influencer, Kath Ebbs. Siwa and Ebbs first sparked dating rumours in late 2024, when Ebbs posted videos of Siwa on their TikTok. The couple then went Instagram official in January 2025. The pair always showcased their love for one another on social media however, everything crumbled apart when Siwa went to "Celebrity Big Brother UK". The 'Karma' hitmaker sparked romance rumours with 32-year-old Hughes after they were seen developing a close bond on the reality show, which left fans questioning her relationship with Ebbs. Ebbs addresses their relationship status with Siwa To add fuel to the fire, Ebbs took to TikTok to announce that Siwa broke things off with them at the finale of the show. The Australian influencer shared in an emotional video that watching the show was very unsettling and hurtful for them due to the things that took place on the show. In a now-deleted TikTok video, Ebbs shared, 'I honestly thought I would come on here, right now with my partner and be like 'It was just a TV show and it was all fabricated and we are happy as Larry. 'But the truth of the matter is that I decided to show up for my partner and hold my end of the bargain of being in a partnership and being a teammate. "And I flew across the world to support and be there and hold that person in whatever they would be experiencing, leaving such a wild experience. Instead, I was dumped at the after party with Chris in the next room,' they added. Ebbs also revealed that Siwa told them that while in the Big Brother House, she realised that Ebbs is not the person that she wants to spend her future with. Siwa breaks her silence regarding her relationship with Ebbs On April 28, Siwa, alongside Hughes, appeared on the 'This Morning' show and spoke up about her split with now ex, Ebbs. She said, 'I'll be honest, that was not a plan. That was not an intention; that was not supposed to happen like that.' The 21-year-old added, 'Initially, I was told that the wrap party was something they (Ebbs) didn't want to attend, and then about an hour into the wrap party, they decided they wanted to. And so I was genuinely just going to have a conversation before, and then it just led to another.' Siwa further said that being in the house helped her come to the realisation that she was not okay with certain things in her life, and her relationship with Ebbs was one of them.

Ex-Apprentice fired up for councillor role
Two years after being fired from The Apprentice, a 25-year-old military history enthusiast has started a new role as a Shropshire councillor. Gregory Ebbs won a seat on Shropshire Council as a Liberal Democrat in May's election by nine votes and said afterwards: "It was on a knife-edge." Lord Sugar showed him the door in week three of the BBC show, after a bad cartoon led to his team losing the task, and he said he feared the people of Whitchurch might cast him out too. "I didn't sleep the night before and was sweating like mad," he said. In the end he received 392 votes out of a total of 1,039, narrowly beating a Reform UK candidate. The Lib Dems swept to power on Shropshire Council in the elections, replacing a Conservative administration which had run the unitary authority since it was created in 2009. Mr Ebbs said his aim was to build on his vote in future elections and added it was the aim of the Lib Dems to prove they could "get things done" and sort out a range of issues. Away from politics, he runs an antique shop in Whitchurch and also tours schools, giving talks with a collection of historical artefacts which he said he started acquiring as a boy. He has lived in Wales, Poland, Thailand and Malta, where he said he got his nickname "the cannon man" because he was employed as a cannon-firer. Mr Ebbs returned to the UK during the coronavirus pandemic and was elected to Whitchurch Town Council. He remains one of the youngest councillors in the county. When he appeared on series 17 of The Apprentice, he said he believed his best qualities were thinking outside the box and his "diverse experiences in different fields".
