Huge Disney+ star enjoys brunch in Glasgow as excited staff say 'what a gent!'
The Bear's fan-favourite actor swapped the Chicago set for one of Glasgow's top brunch spots at the weekend
Emmy Award winning actor Ebon Moss-Bachrach, best known for his role as Richard "Richie" Jerimovich in hit Disney+ series The Bear, was recently spotted grabbing a bite to eat at one of Glasgow's most beloved brunch spots.
The American actor paid a visit to Cafe Strange Brew, a trendy and much loved cafe in the middle of Shawlands, in Glasgow's southside. Known best for its delicious brunch menu and loyal following, the cafe was buzzing after Ebon made a surprise visit.
Cafe owner Laurie MacMillian took to Instagram to share the news. She posted a picture of herself alongside the actor as they posed on Pollokshaws Road, along with the caption "Oh hey!! Super buzzed to meet cousin! What a gent," referring to his character from the show.
He is often called "cousin" by his fans, due to his role as Richie in The Bear. Ebon's Richie and Jeremy Allen White's Carmy Berzatto are not related in the show, but the characters often use "cousin" as a term of endearment, showing how close they are.
Ebon's portrayal of Richie in The Bear earned him worldwide fame after the series captured the attention of viewers all around the world, clinching two Primetime Emmy Awards in 2024.
The actor's fame continues to rise, as he joins the famous Marvel Cinematic Universe. He's set to play Ben Grimm, also known as The Thing, in the highly anticipated reboot of The Fantastic Four: First Steps, which comes out later this year.
He will also reprise the role in Avengers: Doomsday (2026) and Avengers: Secret Wars (2027).
Season four of the Bear will premiere on Thursday, June 26, with all ten episodes dropping the same day on Disney+ in the UK.
Jeremy Allen White reprises his role as Carmy, an award winning chef who returned to his hometown of Chicago to manage the chaotic kitchen in his deceased brother's sandwich shop - turning it into his dream restaurant.
The synopsis for the new series says: "Season four of The Bear finds Carmen "Carmy" Berzatto, Sydney Adamu (Ayo Edebiri) and Richard "Richie" Jerimovich (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) pushing forward, determined not only to survive, but also to take The Bear to the next level. With new challenges around every corner, the team must adapt, adjust and overcome. This season, the pursuit of excellence isn't just about getting better - it's about deciding what's worth holding on to."
Ebon is no stranger to Glasgow, as this was his second time in the past year being spotted walking about the city.
Just last year the actor was spotted in the West End on Byres Road, visiting Christie's Cashmere before he continued shopping in the lanes off the busy streets.
