Students left scrambling as Shreveport Job Corps is disbanded
On Tuesday, June 3, Mayor Tom Arcenaux held a press conference to announce the official launch of the City of Shreveport's new Economic Development One-Stop Shop. The digital platform is designed to make it easier for locals to start and grow a business.
'For too long, doing business in Shreveport has meant chasing down forms, calling multiple offices, or relying on word of mouth. Now, we have a single access point where entrepreneurs, developers, and community partners can get moving faster and with more confidence,' said Arceneaux. The digital platform will list steps for opening a retail store, restaurant, home-based business, or food truck.
