Driver, passenger charged after crash on I-75 in Monroe County
MONROE COUNTY, Tenn. (WATE) — Two men are facing charges after a crash on I-75 early Friday morning.
The crash happened at 12:06 a.m. around mile marker 65 on I-75 southbound, according to a preliminary report by the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

THP said the crash happened as a 1997 Ford Mustang was travelling south and attempting to pass a commercial vehicle in the left lane when it lost control and struck the rear of a 2004 Nissan Frontier. The Nissan also lost control and overturned, coming to a stop on the left side of the road, and the Ford ran off the right side of the road, coming to a stop off the roadway.
The driver of the Nissan was injured, THP's report stated. The driver and passenger of the ford were both uninjured.

The driver of the Ford, identified as Eddie Fox, 28, was charged with vehicular assault and driving on a revoked license, according to the report. The passenger, a 26-year-old man, was also charged with accessory after the fact.
