Edinburgh road blocked and buses diverted due to emergency incident

An Edinburgh road is 'blocked' and buses have been diverted following a morning road traffic collision. The incident took place west of Pilton Drive North at Boswall Parkway just before 10am on May 21. The exact number of vehicles involved is not known at this time. It's also not clear if there have been any injuries. A statement on X reads: "Boswall Parkway is blocked just west of Pilton Drive North following an RTC. "Smaller vehicles are getting through for now, buses will be diverted." Lothian Buses wrote: "Due to a road closure buses are unable to serve parts of Boswall Parkway and are instead diverted via West Granton Road and Pilton Drive North in both directions until further notice." A collision involving a bus and a car on Leith Walk led to diversions on Friday afternoon. The incident happened at around 3.30pm by Shrubhill. The road was blocked off with queues building 'quickly'. Lothian Buses were unable to serve the area as emergency services attended. It is not currently known if there have been any injuries. "Bus vs car RTC at Shrubhill. The road is blocked and queues are building quickly." Lothian Buses said at 3.46pm: "Due to a road closure buses are unable to serve part of Leith Walk and Pilrig Street and are instead diverted via McDonald Road and Broughton Street northbound only until further notice."
