Police probe suspicious death after man's body found at north Edmonton fire scene
Edmonton police said Sunday they're investigating after a man was found dead at the scene of an early morning fire in north Edmonton. Police said in a media release they were contacted by Edmonton Fire Rescue Services at 2:47 a.m. after firefighters found the man's body at the scene near 120 Avenue and 77 Street. Police are calling the death suspicious. Edmonton police homicide detectives have taken over the case. An autopsy is slated for Tuesday. Anyone with information about the death is asked to call police at 780-423-4567.

Motorhome fire likely set on purpose: police
Edmonton police say a vehicle fire over the weekend may have been intentionally set. A fire in a motorhome in the back of a residence near 130 Street and 128A Avenue was reported sometime before 6:30 a.m. on Saturday. Edmonton Fire Rescue Services called police in. Although the investigation is in its preliminary stages, police believe the fire was intentionally started. Police said no one was seriously injured.

Firefighters still working to put out west Edmonton grass fire
A grass fire broke out in west Edmonton on the afternoon of May 6, 2025. A grass fire broke out in west Edmonton on the afternoon of May 6, 2025. A grass fire that closed part of Anthony Henday Drive on Tuesday is still burning Wednesday morning, officials have confirmed. Crews are on scene and the fire has not yet been called out, Edmonton Fire Rescue Services confirmed at 8 a.m. Firefighters began working on the blaze near Anthony Henday Drive and 111 Avenue at 12:35 p.m. Tuesday, when flames originated closer to 186 Street and 104 Avenue. As the fire spread, several businesses in the area were evacuated and northbound Anthony Henday Drive was shut down between Stony Plain Road and Yellowhead Highway. All lanes appeared open by early Wednesday morning. This is a developing story. More to come…
