Saudi Arabia to Require Pre-service Teacher Preparation
Saudi Arabia has announced the launch of its first-ever pre-service teacher preparation programme, which will become a mandatory requirement for entering the educational sector.
The programme is set to bring about a significant shift in the country's educational landscape, reflecting its commitment to developing a highly skilled teaching workforce in line with international standards.
The new programme is designed to enhance the readiness of new teachers before they begin their careers in schools.
Focusing on both pedagogical and subject-matter knowledge, the programme aims to improve the quality of education across the kingdom.
The CEO of Educational Professional Development Operations Saad Al Qarni highlighted that the initiative will ensure teachers are well-prepared for the challenges of modern educational environments, equipping them with the necessary tools to succeed.
The programme covers several key areas, each aimed at strengthening the skills of prospective teachers: Pedagogical development: Focused on enhancing teaching skills, classroom management, and effective student interaction using modern educational techniques.

The Ministry of Education has made it clear that this programme will be compulsory for all individuals applying for teaching positions.
No teacher will be appointed in either public or private schools without successfully completing the program.
This new policy aims to ensure that only highly qualified teachers enter the classroom, supporting Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 educational goals to enhance the quality and global competitiveness of its education system.
