Police searching for Valentine's Day shooting suspect find body in Thames
Police searching for a man believed to have shot his wife dead on Valentine's Day have found a body in the Thames. Lisa Smith, from Slough, was killed outside The Three Horseshoes pub in Knockholt, near Sevenoaks, Kent, on Feb 14. Detectives believe her husband Edvard Stockings – also known by the surname Smith – is the prime suspect. A car linked to him was found abandoned with a firearm inside on the Queen Elizabeth II Bridge near Dartford on the evening of the shooting. He is believed to have jumped from the bridge after fleeing the scene. Kent Police said officers had found a body in the river near Rainham, east London, at around 3.45pm on Friday. Formal identification has yet to take place but his family has been informed, the force said.

Body found in search for Kent pub shooter after woman killed
A body was found in the search for the Kent pub shooter on Friday, March 7. The identity has not been formally confirmed but the man's family has been informed. Kent Police were searching for the man, Edvard Stockings or Smith, after Lisa Smith, 43, was shot dead on Valentine's Day in Knockholt. She was killed outside the Three Horseshoes pub. The suspect was known to Lisa and later that evening, Kent officers found his car abandoned on the Queen Elizabeth II Bridge, said the force. A gun was found inside the car. It is not yet clear whether the gun was legally owned. The specific circumstances have not yet been confirmed. The body was found near Rainham, Essex. The landlady of The Three Horseshoes Michelle Thomas described customers 'screaming, shouting and crying' as they realised what had happened. She told Sky News that she was preparing for the Valentine's dinner service when she heard two loud bangs that she initially thought were fireworks. About 30 people were at the pub for dinner, while 20 more were in the bar as the incident unfolded just after 7pm, she said. 'People were only just starting to sit down, it was early on in the evening,' she told Sky.

Body found in Valentine's Day murder suspect hunt
A body has been found in the search for a suspect after a woman was killed in a shooting on Valentine's Day. Edvard Stockings is suspected of shooting his wife, Lisa Smith, in the car park of the Three Horseshoes pub in Knockholt, Kent, on 14 February. Police said they believed Mr Stockings then drove to the Queen Elizabeth II Bridge, near Dartford, and entered the Thames. Officers have now said a body was found in the river near Rainham, Essex, at roughly 15:45 GMT on Friday. The body has not been formally identified but the man's family have been informed. Mr Stockings is alleged to have shot Ms Smith, 43, from Slough, at about 19:00 before fleeing the scene. CCTV footage captured the sound of three gunshots, followed by shouting and screaming. A car and gun, both linked to the suspect, were found "next to the Dartford crossing", police said. They added that the car was found on the bridge.
