Tesla's Optimus robot program head Kovac leaves company, Bloomberg says
Milan Kovac, the head of engineering at Tesla's (TSLA) Optimus humanoid robot program, is leaving the company, Bloomberg's Edward Ludlow reports, citing a person familiar with the matter. Kovac told colleagues Friday he is exiting the firm effectively immediately, with Tesla autopilot team leader Ashok Elluswamy set to take lead at Optimus, the author notes. On Jan. 29, a couple of weeks before Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency (better known by its acronym, DOGE) began gutting the federal workforce, I tried to figure out who'd been hired to help execute the plans. I filed a FOIA request with the Office of Personnel Management, the government's human resources agency, asking for a list of all individuals hired since Jan. 20, along with their title and job description.
