Man wanted for Asheville motel shooting arrested
ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WSPA) – A man who was wanted for shooting two people at an east Asheville motel has been arrested.
The Asheville Police Department located and arrested 21-year-old Edzavious Javon Lindsay Tuesday in connection to the incident that occurred on Tunnel Road.
7NEWS previously reported that police responded to the scene locating a man who had been shot in the arm and a woman who had been shot in the leg & stomach.
Lindsay reportedly fled the scene following the incident.
Officers also mentioned that Lindsay is also a fugitive from South Carolina for armed robbery.
The SC Law Enforcement Division confirmed with 7NEWS that Lindsay has previously been charged with armed robbery with a deadly weapon in Greenwood in 2022 and Laurens County in 2023. He has also been arrested in Anderson for possession of a stolen vehicle.
Police charged Linday with two counts of first-degree attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, robbery with a dangerous weapon and larceny of a firearm.
Lindsay was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility on March 4 under no bond due to the Pretrial Integrity Act.
The shooting remains under investigation by the Asheville PD.
