CAIRO - 12 June 2025: Uzbek Ambassador in Cairo Mansurbek Kılıçev asserted his country's commitment to deepening ties with Egypt through cultural diplomacy and historical reflection.
He made the remarks during a conference at the Egypt Public Library which was dedicated to the legacy of Sultan Saif al Din Qutuz. Kılıçev highlighted the rich and intertwined history between the Egyptian and Uzbek peoples, noting that the relationship goes far beyond a single historical figure. The ambassador highlighted that the Egyptian-Uzbek ties are based on mutual respect, underlining the importance of deepening cultural and civilizational relations. Kılıçev proposed a landmark initiative on joint production of films, both artistic and documentary.
Sultan Saif al Din Qutuz, a key figure in Islamic history, was born in the Khwarazmian Empire—modern-day Uzbekistan.
