CAIRO, May 4 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty on Sunday reaffirmed Egypt's strong support for Iraq's security and stability. During his meeting with Iraq's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein, Abdelatty praised the notable development of Egyptian-Iraqi relations across various levels in recent years. He emphasized Egypt's commitment to following up on joint cooperation programs with Iraq to enhance all aspects of bilateral relations in a way that serves the interests of both nations. The two ministers discussed cooperation in areas including electricity interconnection, infrastructure, counterterrorism, counter extremism, capacity building, and supporting Iraqi tourism to Egypt. They also discussed encouraging Egyptian companies to operate in Iraq across different sectors, as well as boosting investment and trade exchange between the two countries. The ministers reviewed the latest developments regarding preparations for the upcoming Arab Summit, scheduled to be held in Baghdad on May 17. They also explored ways to advance tripartite cooperation projects involving Egypt, Iraq, and Jordan. The top diplomats exchanged views on regional developments, especially the situation in Gaza. FM stresses necessity of adopting comprehensive political process that includes all Syrians
Basant Ahmed Yesterday, Sunday, Badr Abdel Ati, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, received Fouad Hussein, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iraq. Ambassador Tamim Khallaf, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that Minister Abdel Ati stressed the Egyptian position in support of the security and stability of Iraq, praising the remarkable development witnessed by Egyptian-Iraqi relations over recent years. He valued the joint efforts to deepen bilateral cooperation and advance cooperation projects among Egypt, Iraq and Jordan within the framework of the tripartite cooperation mechanism. The two ministers also discussed the current developments in Syria, where Abdel-Ati affirmed Egypt's position in support of the Syrian state and respect for its sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity, stressing the necessity of adopting a comprehensive political process that includes all components of the Syrian people without excluding any party in order to restore stability im Syria.

Abdelatty tells Hussein Egypt supports Iraq's security, stability
CAIRO, Jan 30 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration Badr Abdelatty said Egypt backs security and stability of Iraq and welcomes the development witnessed in the past years in Egyptian-Iraqi relations. This came during a phone call received by the foreign minister Thursday from his Iraqi counterpart Fuad Hussein. Egypt continues joint cooperation programs with Iraq and to advance them in a way that achieves the interests of the two countries and peoples. The two ministers also exchanged views on the latest developments in the region, especially with regard to the situation in the Gaza Strip after reaching a ceasefire agreement, as well as the developments in Syria.
