Israel Urges Egypt to Block Protesters from Entering Gaza
Rabat — Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz has urged Egyptian authorities to prevent protesters and block them from reaching Gaza, which is suffering under a genocidal war launched by the Israeli Occupation Forces since October 7, 2023.
The Israeli minister sent his threats to pro-Palestinian protesters, describing them as 'jihadists.'
'I expect Egyptian authorities to prevent the arrival of jihadist protesters at the Egyptian-Israel border and not allow them to perform provocations and try and enter Gaza, which will endanger the security of IDF soldiers,' Katz said today.
Activists, health workers, and everyday citizens from around the world, including Morocco, are preparing for a massive peaceful march to the Rafah border crossing in Egypt on June 15.
Their goal is to demand urgent humanitarian access to Gaza, where aid has been illegally blocked for over three months.
The initiative is called the Global March to Gaza, and is bringing together people from over 35 countries.
The protestors will gather in Cairo on June 12 before traveling to al-Arish in northern Sinai.
The marchers aim to march to the Rafah crossing, just before the border of Gaza, to put pressure on Israel to break the illegal blockade and demand an open corridor.
The organizers stress that the demonstration is meant to be peaceful, and they do not intend to cross the border into Gaza. Over 150 NGOs are supporting the civilian-led campaign, which also includes doctors, lawyers, and volunteers, with participants of all ages and backgrounds.
Delegations from around the world are organizing on social media and Telegram channels to gather last-minute logistics and transportation for the feat.
According to Al Jazeera, the march aims to 'pressure world leaders to end Israel's genocidal war' in Gaza.
However, amid mobilization, Egyptian authorities are on high alert, with reports of uncalled-for rigid protocols. Videos circulating on social media show Moroccan nationals being denied entry into Egypt by passport control authorities, with some expressing frustration over what they described as humiliating treatment.
'We came as tourists to Egypt, but they won't allow us in,' one traveler said. Several Moroccans linked their treatment to that of criminals.
In the past 24 hours, the IOF killed at least 120 Palestinians and injured 474 others. Many are being slaughtered while desperately trying to get aid at the American-Israeli-run 'aid' centers, of which humanitarian organizations are warning are death traps for Palestinians.
Since October 2023, Israel has killed at least 54,927 Palestinians and injured at least 126,615. Many victims are still trapped under the rubble.
Additionally, tens of thousands of Palestinians are also starving to death as Israel is blocking aid from entering Gaza. Tags: Africa-Israel summitairstrike against gaza
