Egyptian-Italian artist Lella Fadda is returning to Egypt this June with two free shows in Alexandria and Cairo, offering fans a chance to experience her boundary-pushing sound live. Known for her fusion of Arabic lyricism, hip-hop delivery, and pulsing basslines, Fadda has earned recognition for carving a distinctive space in Europe's experimental rap and electronic scenes. Her upcoming performances mark a rare opportunity for Egyptian audiences to catch her live, starting on June 19th at Antoniades Park in Alexandria, followed by a set at The Greek Campus in Downtown Cairo on June 21st. Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received Italy's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Antonio Tajani. The meeting was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates, Dr. Badr Abdel-Atty. The Spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, said Mr. Tajani conveyed to President El-Sisi the greetings of Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and expressed her interest in strengthening relations between the two countries. The President expressed his appreciation for this interest and emphasized the close Egyptian-Italian relations and the ties that unite the two friendly peoples. The meeting addressed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation, particularly in the economic, trade, and investment fields, as well as opportunities to develop partnerships in the areas of energy, food security, agriculture, and livestock, to achieve the interests of both countries and maximize the benefits of these areas. The meeting also addressed the importance of cooperation between the two countries in combating illegal immigration, as well as cooperation in the area of regular migration, and the need to support Egypt in this regard, given its success in preventing any boats carrying illegal migrants from departing from its coast since 2016, and hosting approximately 9.5 million foreigners displaced by the crises facing the region. The meeting also touched on the situation in the Gaza Strip. Egypt's efforts to achieve a ceasefire, exchange hostages and detainees, and deliver humanitarian aid were reviewed, while confirming Egypt's rejection of the displacement of Palestinians from their land or the liquidation of the Palestinian cause. This is in addition to emphasizing that the recognition of an independent Palestinian state within the framework of a two-state solution is the only guarantee for achieving lasting peace and stability in the region. The Italian deputy prime minister and minister of foreign affairs expressed Italy's appreciation for Egypt's mediation efforts to achieve a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and stressed his country's support for the early recovery and reconstruction plan proposed by Egypt, which has received Arab and Islamic support. The meeting also tackled developments in Syria, Libya, and Sudan, maritime security in the Bab al-Mandab Strait, and developments pertinent to negotiations between Iran and the United States regarding the Iranian nuclear issue. The meeting confirmed Egypt's keeness to see the stability of those countries and the protection of their resources and unity, alongside the need to resolve disputes peacefully and to push relentlessly for a ceasefire in Gaza. Mr. Tajani praised Egypt's tremendous efforts to restore regional stability, stressing his country's commitment to continuous consultation and coordination with Egypt in this regard. Egypt's Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, Kamel El-Wazir, held a virtual meeting with Italy's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Matteo Salvini, to discuss expanding cooperation across various transport sectors. The meeting was also attended by Italy's Ambassador to Cairo, Michele Quaroni, and Egypt's Deputy Minister of Transport, Wagdy Radwan. Minister El-Wazir emphasized Egypt's commitment to strengthening its partnership with Italy in transport and industrial development. He highlighted Egypt's investment-friendly climate and reaffirmed the government's dedication to fostering collaboration with both international and local private sector entities. One of the key topics of discussion was the ongoing negotiations between Egypt's Ministry of Transport and the Italian State Railways Company regarding a proposal for managing and operating Egypt's high-speed rail network. The officials also reviewed cooperation with Italian company MERMEC, which is involved in various railway sectors, including the supply of a railway inspection machine and the modernization of signaling systems on the El-Ferdan–Bir El-Abd line. Both sides stressed the importance of localizing railway signaling system manufacturing by establishing a MERMEC production facility in Egypt. Discussions also focused on the Egyptian-Italian Ro-Ro shipping line, which facilitates regular voyages between Damietta Port in Egypt and Trieste Port in Italy, extending further to Oria and vice versa. El-Wazir underscored the significance of this maritime route, describing it as a sustainable trade corridor for refrigerated and dry cargo, as well as a symbol of enduring friendship between Egypt and Italy. To further solidify their partnership, Minister El-Wazir invited Minister Salvini to visit Egypt for in-depth discussions involving experts from both countries. The talks aim to develop a comprehensive roadmap for future cooperation in transport and infrastructure. Salvini welcomed the proposal and reaffirmed Italy's commitment to expanding collaboration, recognizing Egypt's strategic role as a regional transport hub and its attractive investment environment. Both nations expressed a shared commitment to deepening their transport cooperation and establishing a long-term strategic partnership to support mutual economic growth and development.

Deputy PM, Italian Amb. discuss increasing cooperation in transport field CAIRO - 1 March 2025: Lieutenant General Engineer Kamel El-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development, Minister of Industry and Transport, held a video conference Saturday with Matteo Salvini, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of Italy, to discuss strengthening cooperation between the two sides in various transport fields. The meeting was attended by Ambassador Michele Quaroni, Italian Ambassador to Cairo, and Engineer Wagdy Radwan, Deputy Minister of Transport for Railways and Electric Traction. At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister praised the depth of Egyptian-Italian relations and the existing cooperation between the two sides in implementing a number of projects in the fields of (smart transportation on roads, subways, railways and maritime transport), stressing the aspiration to increase the volume of cooperation between the two sides in the fields of transportation and industry. Minister Kamel el-Wazir stressed that Egypt is open to cooperation with all countries of the world and international companies in all fields, including the field of transportation, especially since the investment climate in Egypt is a promising climate and that the Egyptian government, represented by the Ministry of Transport, pays great attention to maximizing cooperation with the international and local private sector, in implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic. During the meeting, the two sides discussed the ongoing discussions between the Egyptian Ministry of Transport and the Italian Railways Company to discuss the possibility of the company submitting an offer to manage and operate the high-speed electric train network in Egypt, as well as the latest developments in cooperation with the Italian company Mermic in various railway fields, such as supplying a track inspection machine and developing signaling systems on the Al-Fardan-Bir al-Abd line, and the importance of the company establishing a large factory for signaling systems in Egypt with the aim of localizing such industries. The discussions also touched on the Egyptian-Italian Ro-Ro line, whose trips continue regularly from Damietta Port to Trieste Port in Italy and from there to Oria and vice versa.

El-Sisi, Italy PM stress urgency of immediate Gaza reconstruction without displacing Palestinians - Foreign Affairs

President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni stressed Thursday the need for the immediate initiation of the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip without displacing Palestinians from their land or liquidating the Palestinian cause. During a phone call, both sides addressed the regional developments, highlighting Egypt's efforts to implement the Gaza ceasefire deal and facilitate the exchange of captives and detainees. The Egyptian presidency also emphasized the need to deliver sufficient humanitarian aid to Gaza to alleviate the Palestinian humanitarian crisis. Additionally, both leaders called on the international community to fulfil its responsibilities to protect the Palestinian people and support their rights to establish an independent state based on the 4 June 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital. El-Sisi and Meloni affirmed the momentum Egyptian-Italian relations have witnessed, particularly in economy, investment, trade, and energy. The call also touched on ways to intensify cooperation to combat irregular migration. For her part, the Italian PM praised Egypt's efforts in this regard, which resulted in no boats carrying irregular migrants departing from Egyptian coasts since 2016.
