EFA to Organize Egypt Women's Supercup in August

Rana Atef The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) scheduled the 2024/2025 Women's Super Cup for next August, prior to the start of the 2025/2026, instead of May 30. The Super Cup match will feature the champion of the Egyptian Women's Premier League, Massar, against the Egypt Women's Cup winner, Al Ahly. Officials from Massar, as the champions of the Egyptian Women's Premier League, and Al Ahly and Wadi Degla, as the finalists of the Egypt Women's Cup, had objected to the May 30th date for the Egyptian Super Cup. Massar achieved a significant milestone, clinching the title of the Egyptian Women's Premier League for the 2024/2025 season after a full season without a single loss. On the other hand, Al Ahly captured the title of Egypt Women's Cup after defeating Wadi Degla 1-0 in the final. read more Japan Stun Spain 2-1 to Qualify for World Cup Last 16 World Cup 2022: Get to Know Confirmed Line-ups of Japan and Spain Group E Decider Saudi Arabia Bid Farewell to World Cup after 2-1 Loss to Mexico Tunisia Achieve Historic Win over France but Fail to Qualify Tunisia to Clash against France in World Cup Sports Get to Know Squad of Group D Teams in World Cup Sports Al Ahly Gift EGP 70,000 to Players After Claiming Egyptian Super Cup Title Sports Bencharki Hits First 2 Goals with Al Jazira Since Leaving Zamalek Sports Arsenal Possible Line-up for Nottingham Forest News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia News Australia Fines Telegram $600,000 Over Terrorism, Child Abuse Content Arts & Culture Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's $4.7M LA Home Burglarized Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Sports Neymar Announced for Brazil's Preliminary List for 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers News Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly Inaugurates Two Indian Companies Arts & Culture New Archaeological Discovery from 26th Dynasty Uncovered in Karnak Temple Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks

Zamalek's Zizo refutes reports of signing with rival Ahly - Egyptian Football

Zamalek winger Ahmed "Zizo" Sayed has firmly denied reports suggesting he has signed with any club, either inside Egypt or abroad, amid rife speculations about his future as his contract with the White Knights edges closer to expiration. Recent reports on social media claimed the 29-year-old had agreed to join rival Ahly ahead of the 2025 Club World Cup, scheduled in the United States between 15 June and 13 July. "I've chosen not to comment on contract extension talks for some time, but now I need to make it clear: I haven't signed with any team, inside or outside Egypt," Zizo said in a statement posted on his Instagram account Tuesday. 'The club holding my signature should be the one to announce it - if they have it,' he added. Zizo also expressed respect for Zamalek, where he has played for several years while referring to unresolved issues related to his rights as a player. 'People should understand that I respect the great club I play for, but there are issues I haven't spoken about, including my rights as a player - just like any player in the world,' Zizo said. The winger's contract with Zamalek is set to expire at the end of the current season, meaning he has been in the open negotiation period since January. This allows him to discuss terms with any club, including potential suitors like Ahly, should Zamalek fail to renew his contract. However, recent reports suggested that talks between Zizo and Zamalek have stalled due to his financial demands, as well as a lucrative offer from rival club Ahly. Zizo also questioned the public focus on his contract situation. 'Why hasn't anyone talked about my delayed payments from Zamalek? Why hasn't anyone mentioned that the club left me waiting a long time without extending my contract?' 'Why hasn't anyone pointed out that contract extension talks have come at a late stage in my career, as a footballer?' Zizo continued. The winger also highlighted the offers he had rejected in the past year, saying, 'I turned down offers ten times bigger than the current ones, choosing to wait for Zamalek's proposal.' Zizo reassured Zamalek fans, stating, 'I'm not trying to negotiate or play games. But the other party must also want me to stay.' 'I'm awaiting the club's response until the final day of the Confederation Cup, and I hope to win with my teammates.' He concluded. Since joining Zamalek from Portugal's Moreirense in January 2019, Zizo has been a key player, helping the club secure eight major trophies, including two Egyptian League titles, two CAF Confederation Cups, one Egyptian Super Cup, and two African Super Cups. Over his five seasons at Zamalek, Zizo has scored 84 goals and provided 71 assists in 260 appearances across all competitions. This season, he has played 31 matches, netting eight goals and registering eight assists. Preview: Ahly eye extending historic dominance over Zamalek in Cairo derby - Egyptian Football

Egyptian powerhouse Ahly are gearing up to lock horns with Zamalek in the 15th matchday of the Egyptian Premier League at Cairo International Stadium on Saturday, with the Red Devils aiming to reclaim the league's top spot and cement their dominance over their archrivals. The defending champions enter the game intent on reclaiming first place in the league standings, sitting second with 32 points—just one point behind leaders Pyramids FC, who face Talae El-Geish on Sunday. A victory is crucial for Ahly to keep pace at the top and sustain their title charge this season. On Saturday, Ahly, established in 1907, will also be looking to extend its historical dominance over Zamalek, established in 1911. Out of 253 encounters across all competitions over the decades, the Red Devils have emerged victorious in 110 games, with Zamalek winning only 61 times and 82 matches ending in draws. More recently, the Red Devils beat the White Knights to claim the Egyptian Super Cup in October 2024 after the White Knights defeated the Red Devils to claim the CAF Super Cup a few weeks earlier. The Red Devils have been in excellent form this season under Swiss coach Marcel Koller, securing nine wins and three draws, boasting the league's most potent attack - with 26 goals scored - and one of the tightest defences, conceding only eight goals. Ahly head into the match on the back of a 4-0 thrashing of Ismaily last Sunday, extending their unbeaten run to four games. The victory was further boosted by the return of Palestinian striker Wessam Abou Ali and Moroccan defender Achraf Dari, who made substitute appearances after lengthy injury layoffs. However, the win was marred by an injury to midfielder Mohamed 'Afsha' Magdi, forcing the playmaker to miss Saturday's derby. This setback adds to an already growing injury list that includes Moroccan left-back Yahia Attiat-Allah, defender Yasser Ibrahim, Reda Slim, Karim Fouad, Ali Maaloul, winger Taher Mohamed Taher and defender Omar Kamal, piling further pressure on 64-year-old Koller. However, the match could also mark the debut of Ahly's Moroccan forward Achraf Bencharki, a January signing and former Zamalek player, who has been named in the squad list. The 30-year-old winger joined the Cairo giants on a two-and-a-half-year deal during the winter transfer window from Qatari side Al-Rayyan. On the other hand, Zamalek enter the game on the back of a 1–1 draw against Petrojet, a match that underscored the team's struggles in recent seasons. The White Knights, currently third in the league table with 27 points, will be eager to secure a win to narrow the gap on their rivals and reinvigorate their own title aspirations. However, in his second game in charge, Portuguese coach Jose Peseiro faces selection headaches with key players unavailable. Defender Hamza Mathlouthi, winter signing midfielder Mahmoud Gehad, defender Ahmed Fatouh, Mahmoud 'Shikabala' Abdel-Razik, and Ahmed Hamdi will miss the game through injury, while Nasser Maher serves a suspension.
