UAE moon sighting committee to meet today
The UAE moon-sighting committee will meet on Tuesday, May 27 (Dhul-Qa'dah 29 1446 AH), at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi to observe the crescent of Dhul-Hijjah.
The crescent marks the start of Eid Al Adah.
The meeting will be chaired by Shaykh Abdullah bin Al Shaykh Al-Mahfouz bin Bayyah, Chairman of the UAE Council for Fatwa, along with participation from leading scholars and experts in astronomy.
The committee will review scientific data and detailed reports from relevant agencies regarding the astronomical calculations for the crescent sighting.
Observations will be assessed after sunset on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the UAE Council for Fatwa has called on specialists, experts, and the public to observe the crescent of Dhul-Hijjah after sunset on Tuesday.
