Abu Dhabi: 'Eid Joy' initiative brings inmates and their families together on Eid Al Adha

RTA's 20 Ramadan initiatives benefit 55,000 people across Dubai
Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) successfully carried out 20 community initiatives during Ramadan 2025, reaching 55,000 people across the city. These initiatives aimed to support low-income families, delivery riders, truck drivers, public transport users, orphans, senior citizens, and people of determination. To mark the end of Ramadan, RTA organized the 'Eid Joy' initiative, distributing gifts and Eid money to workers, orphans, and senior citizens at Etisalat Metro Station. Cultural events and workshops for children were held in partnership with various organizations, reinforcing the spirit of giving and community cohesion. Among other key programs, the 'Iftar Saem' project provided meals to over 30,000 individuals in partnership with the Dubai Charity Association. The initiatives were implemented in collaboration with Dubai Police, the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department, the Dubai Charity Association, Beit Al Khair Society, and private sector partners such as Noon Food and Keolis MHI. SRERD leads Ramadan initiatives to promote community solidarity
Distribution of Iftar meals The initiatives included the distribution of 1,000 Iftar meals in cooperation with the Sharjah Charity International on the occasion of "Zayed Humanitarian Work Day," which falls on the 19th of Ramadan each year. Ramadan tent and food rations The department also distributed 100 daily Iftar meals at a Ramadan tent, set up in cooperation with the same entity in Kalba city. Additionally, food rations known as "Ramadan Meer" were provided to eligible public service employees. Collective Iftar at Sharjah Elderly Home The department organized a collective Iftar at the Sharjah Elderly Home as part of the "Our Guests" initiative launched by the Sharjah Social Services Department. "Eid Joy Caravan" returns for tenth season
Changes to the initiative over the years The initiative, overseen by the Department's Community Cohesion Department, has adapted over time due to various circumstances, such as the Corona pandemic. Initially held remotely, the "Eid Joy" boxes were later displayed in shopping malls. In its 13th session, the caravan has returned to its original format: a mobile caravan that delivers Eid gifts to institutions and departments across the emirate, bringing joy to approximately 3,000 children before Eid Al Fitr. Caravan tour and community engagement The caravan, consisting of a bus and two cars, will visit previously booked institutions, deliver Eid gift boxes, and stay for a day before moving on to the next location. This initiative fosters compassion and communication within society and is part of a series of year-round community projects led by the department. These projects aim to enhance social responsibility and spread happiness, especially during the festive occasion of Eid Al Fitr.
