Eiza Gonzalez 'obsessed' with Timothee Chalamet and Kylie Jenner

Timothee Chalamet's ex-girlfriend Eiza Gonzalez is "obsessed" by his new romance with reality star Kylie Jenner. The 'Fountain of Youth' star was linked to Timothee back in 2020 - three years before he struck up a romance with reality TV star Kylie - and Eiza, 35, has now admitted she's happy to see him "thriving" because the couple look "so in love and so cute". During an appearance in Cosmopolitan magazine's online video series 'Cheap Shots', Eiza explained: "They look so cute together. They look so in love and so cute, I'm obsessed with them, and I love Timmy." She added of the 29-year-old 'Dune' star: "I think he's the most talented, sweetest - honestly, sweetest boy - and I'm just so proud to see him thriving and doing great in his career, and we're just good friends. "I have nothing but amazing things to say about him." Eiza was first linked to the actor in June 2020 when they were spotted enjoying a break together in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, but reports suggested the pair had parted ways by the end of the year. The 'A Complete Unknown' actor has been romancing Kylie - who is mom to Stormi, seven, and three-year-old Aire with ex-boyfriend Travis Scott - since April 2023 and their relationship has won the seal of approval from Timothee's mother Nicole Flender. The real estate agent told Curbed: 'I have to say she's lovely. She's very nice to me.' While Kylie was by her boyfriend's side throughout the Hollywood awards season, she recently admitted she is keen to try and keep her personal life more private these days. The 'Kardashians' star told HommeGirls: "The internet is amazing because obviously that's where I started my business. It's been great for me to connect with my fans but now I think it's about finding balance. There's a dark side to it. It's just about finding that balance." The make-up mogul prefers to spend time at home with her friends and family rather than going out to high-profile events. She said: "I value a lot of personal time. So, I usually have people over for dinner, or I go to someone's house, or if we're going out somewhere usually my friends come over and we get ready together."

Eiza Gonzalez loved working with Guy Richie on Fountain of Youth

Eiza Gonzalez was "like a sponge" on the set of 'Fountain of Youth'. The 35-year-old actress stars alongside the likes of John Krasinski, Natalie Portman, and Domhnall Gleeson in the Guy Ritchie-directed adventure film, and Eiza has revealed that she relished working with the acclaimed filmmaker. The Hollywood star - who previously worked with Guy on 'The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare' - told Collider: "For me, you're always learning from another person - and especially someone as deep and as well-rounded as Guy Richie. "You think you know him and you're like, 'Wow, there are so many layers to you.' Not only as an individual but also as a director. And so I was just so grateful that I got the chance to be in this movie and I'm always sort of coming to set as if it's the first time I've ever worked with this person." Eiza actually feels grateful to play a part in 'Fountain of Youth'. The actress also appreciated being part of the film's star-studded cast. She shared: "I always want to take advantage of the moment I'm on a set, because it's not a given, and want to absorb it like a sponge. And so I did. "I had the most incredible cast to work with. I would go to set to watch them sometimes ... it's fun, you know? These movies are a gift and you have to sort of really enjoy them in the process of it all." Meanwhile, Eiza previously confessed to feeling "distraught" after being overlooked for the role of Catwoman in 'The Batman'. The actress was one of the candidates for the iconic role in the 2022 film, but Zoe Kravitz ultimately landed the coveted part in the Matt Reeves-directed movie. Eiza told "I was so excited when I was like, camera tested for 'The Batman'. And that whole process was shocking and I couldn't believe it because I was especially such a huge fan of Catwoman. And in that moment, I was like, you know, distraught that I didn't get it. "But then I watched it and I was like, wow, I just like, loved it. I loved her. I loved the role. I loved Zoe in it. "I just was so obsessed with what Matt had created and now I'm just like, it's just nice to see people for the right role getting cast in the right role and I just like to watch it as an audience member." Eiza would still love to land a role in a Marvel or a DC movie. But, she added: "I don't see it happening. "I mean, it's like my opportunity has been there and it's not happened for me. So I think it's just not in the cards for Eiza Gonzalez, which is OK. I'm ... I'm OK with it."

Eiza González's Scrutiny Over Her Body Image As A Teen

Fountain of Youth star Eiza González shared how she was brought back to a difficult moment as a teenage actor when Millie Bobby Brown called out journalists for their "disturbing" comments about her appearance. During a May 26 appearance on Jesse Tyler Ferguson's podcast Dinner's on Me, Eiza recalled facing scrutiny around her appearance like Millie did earlier this year. "It really made me sad because... when I was like a teenager, you know, I broke into the industry," Eiza recalled. From 2007-08, Eiza starred in a Mexican remake of the Argentine telenovela Floricienta called Lola, érase una vez (Lola: Once Upon a Time). "They were waiting for the reveal of this character, and I came on stage, and I sang a song, whatever," she recalled. "The next morning, I'm watching the version of Today Show in Mexico, and they're gonna talk about it. I'm like, I'm 14 'Oh my God, it's just happening, this is crazy.' I'm doing what I wanna do. And the presenters came on, and they're 40 and 50-year-olds, and they're like, 'Ugh, she's so ugly. She's so fat. They could have gotten anyone, like why would they get her?'" Eiza became a bit emotional as she recounted the harsh experience. "I remember even right now, I'm just like, 'Oh my God, it was just so jarring," she said. "And I was just like sitting there, like embarrassed with myself. Like even [now] it makes me tear up." Earlier, Eiza explained that she suffered a "deep depression" after the death of her father in a "tragic accident" when she was only 12, which made this experience even harder to navigate as a teen. "Now you become this child where you're chasing approval, and now you're like completely lost of identity. And you're also completely lost because you're mourning and you're grieving, so you're sad. And then I'm touring and having to smile and be a role model and pretend like I'm okay when everyone's bombarding you. What you're supposed to do, what you're not supposed to do." But, support from her "amazing mother" being there for her through it all helped Eiza persist. "I definitely got lost. I was very unkind to myself, my body, my thoughts, my soul, because I just never felt good enough," she continued. "And it's something that stays with you forever because it's sort of brands you, it marks you for life. And so it becomes a catch-up." Millie's clapback by calling out the "disgusting" headlines resonated with Eiza, reminding her of her own experience as a teenage actor. "I really identified with what she was saying because she was reading this, she was explaining about her terrifying [experience] and I just found that really interesting because she was talking about being a grown woman and sort of finding the way she wants to dress and act and be, and she doesn't have to do it under other people's terms. It's under her terms." If you remember, back in March, Millie, who started at age 12 on Stranger Things, faced nasty comments from certain media during her press tour for Electric State. On March 3, Millie called out the problematic headlines and discourse. "We always talk about supporting and uplifting young women, but when the time comes, it seems easier to tear them down for clicks. Disillusioned people can't handle seeing a girl become a woman on her terms, not theirs. I refuse to apologize for growing up. I refuse to make myself smaller to fit the unrealistic expectations of people who can't handle seeing a girl become a woman. I will not be shamed for how I look, how I dress, or how I present myself," Millie wrote. It's truly heartbreaking that Millie, Eiza, and many entertainers of all ages experience such nasty critiques on their appearance, whether from social media or, in some cases, professional media. Hopefully, the fear of being called out by name will start deterring the culprits. Listen to the Dinner's On Me episode here.

Eiza González has a lot to say about those Seven Husbands Of Evelyn Hugo rumours

Eiza González is a true cinephile. 'I just read Moviemakers' Master Class,' she says as she leaps up from her linen clad bed to grab the book off her shelf and show me. 'Laurent Tirard interviewed 20 of the best filmmakers in the world. [In each interview] you can really see the identity of the filmmaker and why they are the style of filmmaker that they are.' And one filmmaker she can't get enough of? Guy Ritchie. The 35-year-old is starring in her third collaboration with the director, Fountain of Youth which is out on Apple TV+ today. We're catching up about a month before the movie releases, it's a rare sunny day in England, and Eiza is calling from always warm Los Angeles, make-up free, chilling on her bed, and takeaway coffee in hand as she shares heart warm adoration for the man she considers both a 'brilliant dynamic filmmaker' and now, her friend. 'There is something to be said about a director who can create a style under their name, and he's one of the handful of people that has been able to do that, and cross genres and do so many different styles of films and be really good at it,' she explains. 'I've been an enormous Guy Ritchie fan since I can recall, and so it is pretty surreal now. Sometimes I go back to my 12 year old self, and I think, 'wow, if someone told me I was gonna be a Guy Ritchie girl, I would have never believed it'.' But believe it she should. The actress, who was born and raised in Mexico City, kickstarted her career on Mexican television after being inspired by her Fountain of Youth co-star Natalie Portman. 'I'm not even saying this to be funny. I grew up watching Natalie and I was just always incredibly taken by her,' she laughs from behind the Zoom screen. A string of TV shows in Mexico in her teen years, led to a move to Hollywood, where she's since gone onto star in projects such as Baby Driver, Hobbs & Shaw, Netflix's Three Body Problem, Guy Ritchie's The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare and In The Grey, which is due to be released later this year. It was while filming on location for In The Grey that Eiza first heard about Ritchie's Fountain of Youth, but never imagined her luck she would be cast in a third project from the filmmaker. 'He was already prepping for Fountain of Youth, and we were in the winnebago. Henry [Cavill], Jake [Gyllenhaal] and I were all discussing the movie and he [Ritchie] asked us who to cast. Never in a million years, when I was doing In The Grey, would I have thought he would have offered me Fountain of Youth. And so when my agents called me, with 'you have an offer for Fountain of Youth. And I was like, 'Wait, are you sure?'' In Fountain of Youth, Eiza plays the character of Esme, a mysterious figure who is working against the estranged sibling duo of Luke and Charlotte Purdue played by John Krasinski ('he's so funny and charismatic' she notes) and Natalie Portman, on their mission to discover the titular fountain of youth. Esme is determined and doesn't let anything get in her way, something Eiza finds within herself. 'That definitely is a trait that I can relate to,' she ponders. 'I'm not as 'killer' as she is. She's a protector, and so she's willing to do anything she needs to. She has a lot of humour in it, which I really appreciate. She's lethal in a funny way. And I can relate, definitely to being driven the way that she is, but definitely not as a cutthroat as she is.' Fountain of Youth is a fun family treasure hunting movie, but with a key meaning at the heart of it. The actual fountain itself is an eternal bliss filled life in liquid form. Does Eiza think it's possible for a life filled with bliss to exist I ask her? 'I think it's a mental state, and it's the deep message of the movie.' She answers. 'And so yeah I believe so. I think we have the power to enjoy this once in a lifetime ticket to this amazing thing called life, and it's in our hands to make it as blissful as possible. Mindset is everything. You could be living a very normal, mundane life and be incredibly blissful and happy, or have the most 'amazing exhilarating' lifestyle and not be happy still.' For Eiza, moments of bliss come from spending time with animals and being with her family. Her father passed away when she was younger, and she has one older brother and her mum, both of whom she is very close to. 'Seeing my mother achieve something big, or my brother, or seeing my nephew's excitement about simple things that gives me so much joy,' she reflects. Though not what the movie sets out to achieve, hearing the title Fountain of Youth, I can't help but be struck by thoughts of the current conversations swirling around Hollywood about women, age and beauty standards. Having previously worked with Demi Moore [on upcoming project I Love Boosters], the star of The Substance, the 2024 movie that perfectly encapsulated these questions, I ask Eiza if the pair ever spoke on these issues together. 'My introduction to Demi is very different. Her daughter Rumer [Willis] is one of my good friends, and so I bonded with me over Rumer. Demi is such a family woman, I think she's an incredible mother. She's a girl's mum. And when you're around a woman that has birthed three beautiful women, she has a deep, beautiful understanding, and I think she's stepped into this place in her life where she's just in the most beautiful state as a human being talking around age, women and the hardships that come with it and the public eye. It was so beautiful to see her talk about it so openly,' she responds. As well as the two Guy Ritchie projects she has coming out later this year, Eiza is keeping herself very busy. She's currently filming seasons two and three of Netflix's Three Body Problem, and working on writing of her own. 'Being in a consistent job, like Three Body Problem, where I'm very clear on what I'm doing has allowed me to sit down and write. So I'm really excited.' One thing fans of Eiza's are very keen to find out is if the actress will be playing the role of Evelyn Hugo in Netflix's adaptation of Taylor Jenkins Reid's The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. On that, Eiza remains very tight-lipped. 'I'm not in talks of being in anything because I don't even know what's going on with the project,' she says. Eiza is a self-described 'pen pal' of Reid, after the pair connected over social media, and has read Reid's other books including Malibu Rising, Daisy Jones and The Six, and Carrie Soto is Back. While Eiza won't be committing to anything re the famed part just yet, she does have a lot of love for the book. 'I love Taylor. I think she's an incredible writer. I love that book. There's very few books that we have for Latin women like that. It really has such well rounded, relatable but sexy, interesting, dynamic characters like Evelyn Hugo, and I'd be honoured [to play the role].' As we wind down our call and Eiza gets ready for more interviews, the conversation turns to art. It's a prominent theme in Fountain of Youth, as in Da Vinci Code style, the siblings hunt for clues to the location of the Fountain of Youth in famous art works and artefacts. It's something Eiza explores in her own life too, as she paints water colours and sometimes sketches while on set. 'Robert Rodriguez taught me when I did my first ever job in the US you should never have a phone with you on set, because it turns off your creative mind. You want to keep the side of your brain that is firing in the creative space on, and so in between takes he had an art room he would force his actors to paint in in-between takes,' she reflects. 'It just keeps you in this really blissful [moment].' As we go to hang up, Eiza smiles warmly and encourages me to enjoy the rare English sunshine. I understand why Ritchie keeps booking her. Her energy is infectious, welcoming and above all, filled with bliss. Fountain of Youth is available on Apple TV+ now

Eiza Gonzalez in disbelief about being cast in Fountain of Youth

Eiza Gonzalez was shocked when Guy Ritchie cast her in 'Fountain of Youth'. The 35-year-old actress thought the esteemed 56-year-old film director was "joking" after he got her involved in three back-to-back projects, including 2024's action war movie 'The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare' and 2025's action flick 'In the Grey'. Eiza told SFX magazine: "I was like, 'There's no way that Guy would want me [again].' And in December, right after the holidays - because the holidays can be, kind of, grim sometimes - I was just by myself in Los Angeles, and I got a call, 'You've got the offer.' "I was like, 'You're joking?'" The star plays Esme in the 'Fountain of Youth' - which sees Luke Purdue (John Krasinski), the estranged brother of Charlotte Purdue (Natalie Portman), team up with his sibling for a worldwide hunt to find the mythological titular fountain in the film. And the first thing Eiza thought of to get in character was to chop her hair off. The 'Ash' star explained: "The first thing I said is, 'I think we need to cut my hair off.' Completely change my look. "Look very different to what we did before. I want to make her completely her own." Esme is a "protector" and described the character to the New York Times as 'machiavellian fun, a huge enigma and kind of a poker face, but a sassy and witty girl". And Eiza loved playing her. She continued: "She's just a great character to be able to play. She's just so multifaceted and fun in a very Guy Ritchie way. "She's, kind of, following this crew of talented people and trying to find out what they're trying to do, because she has ulterior motives." The 'Baby Driver' actress loves taking risks and pushing herself to perform at her very best, and Eiza thinks this encouraged Guy to cast her in 'Fountain of Youth'. She told the New York Times: "I think he really enjoys someone that is willing to take risks and play and push themselves, and he saw a lot of desire in me." John Krasinski gushed his praise for Guy's work on 'Fountain of Youth', and it has made John feel proud that he can add the flick to his list of acting credits. The 'Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness' star said: "This is one of those movies where you'll look back and go, 'I'm so glad I did this.'" And the dad-of-two - Hazel, 10, and Violet, seven, who he has with his wife Emily Blunt - is thrilled that he can finally show his bundles of joy a movie he is in and that he can shut down Hazel and Violet's beliefs that he was an "accountant". John said: "My kids are 10 and about to be eight, and Guy just showed them the opening of the movie, and they were like, 'When's this coming out?' "I think they thought I was an accountant before. They can't watch 'A Quiet Place' or 'Jack Ryan'. So they're like, 'Where do you go every day?' "And now they know!"
