Chief of Public Security Leads Royal Academy of Police Scientific Council Meeting
Manama: Lieutenant-General Tariq Al Hassan, Chief of Public Security, presided over the Royal Academy of Police (RAP) Scientific Council meeting, focusing on the enhancement of security personnel training and education.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting saw the participation of Major General Dr. Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Deputy Chief of Public Security, and Major General Fawaz Al Hassan, Commander of RAP. Lt. General Al Hassan emphasized the pivotal role of RAP in preparing security personnel to meet high standards, with continuous support from General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the RAP Board of Trustees.
Lt. General Al Hassan proposed the introduction of a Master's programme in digital forensics and information analysis to strengthen security personnel capabilities. The discussions also involved the development of training courses and programmes through an electronic system, aiming to improve policing performance in line with best practices.
The meeting reviewed significant achievements and projects for the year, aligning with the minister's directives. These initiatives include the establishment of a Centre for Electronic Creativity and Artificial Intelligence, a Language Centre to enhance foreign language skills, and a comprehensive training village.
The academy plans to collaborate with universities to offer specialised postgraduate programmes, including doctoral studies in policing, security, crisis management, and disaster risk management. The meeting concluded with Lt. General Al Hassan expressing gratitude to the council members and the RAP administrative and faculty team for their contributions to academic and training programme development, wishing them continued success.
