Kendrick Lamar Takes Shot At A$AP Relli On Playboi Carti Track 'GOOD CREDIT'
Kendrick Lamar's much discussed features on Playboi Carti's new album, I Am Music, did not disappoint, with one verse on the song 'GOOD CREDIT' referencing A$AP Relli taking the stand against A$AP Rocky
After Carti sets the mood, the Compton rhymer takes over the track 1:45 in, boasting of the blinding Eliantte jewelry that he shares with his lady, comparing the gems' quality to Relli's actions during his testimony.
'Eliantte go big, white gold link fall on the belly/The emerald cuff for hers and his, that bit*h on point like A$AP Relli,' Dot raps. The line references the Harlem native's testimony, as he pointed out Rocky in court as the guilty party. Rocky was charged with two felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, but ultimately won his case. Pointers are also a weight measurement for diamonds smaller than one carat, so it also fits into Lamar's jewelry scheme.
While A$AP Rocky, born Rakim Mayers, beat the case, Relli, né Terrell Ephron, is still seeking a win, and will be moving forward with a civil lawsuit accusing his former associate of assault.
'GOOD CREDIT' aside, the Grammy-winning artist is also featured on 'MOJO JOJO' and 'BACKD00R' which also features vocals from Lamar's 'Luther' collaborator, SZA.
