CCRI is nearing a decision on its next president as search narrows
The search committee has been tight-lipped about its search process, but interim President
The nine-member search committee is chaired by former Providence Teachers Union president Steve Smith and Family Court Judge Elizabeth Ortiz,
and the state hired AGB Search to assist with the process.

The CCRI presidency is one of the most important jobs in higher education in Rhode Island. The two-year college is a significant player in the workforce development space, and it's an affordable option at a time where most good-paying jobs require more than a high school diploma.
Postsecondary Commission Shannon Gilkey told the postsecondary council last month that the CCRI community will have an opportunity to engage with the finalists for the job before a decision is made.
