Knife-wielding robbers caught in south Essex by sharp-nosed police dog
A TRIO of knife-wielding robbers have been arrested by police in Thurrock following a search by a police helicopter, dog and multiple officers.
Essex Police received reports of a robbery in Chadwell St Mary at around 4pm on Friday, with the suspects using a moped to carry out their crime.
Following the large police operation, three teenage boys were arrested and multiple bags of Class B drugs recovered.

Police were yesterday contacted by a victim who had been threatened with a knife by a group on mopeds.
Officers in the area were able to track the group to Tilbury with the help of helicopter air support.
At the same time, Police Dog Kaiser and his handler approached the group from another direction and surprised them as they walked in grassland near Feenan Highway.

He also located a number of small bags believed to be a Class B drug alongside gloves and balaclavas.
Three teenage boys were arrested on suspicion of theft of motor vehicle, robbery, criminal damage and drug offences and remain in custody for questioning.
Chief Inspector Ella Latham said: 'We will always respond robustly to reports of any weapon being used and these arrests are a testament to the work of officers from a number of different teams who are all committed to keeping our neighbourhoods safe – and tracking down the people who we believe are causing harm in them.'
