Remember these Miami TV anchors from years past? ‘May the good news be yours'
Miami TV stations may swap network affiliations and even spots on the dial. But what seems to stay the same year after year are the anchors who you see every day on the news.
South Florida is known for its anchored anchors who have decades-long staying power. At Channel 7, it's Craig Stevens. Channel 4's Elliott Rodriguez and 10's Calvin Hughes are familiar faces who have been on air for what seems like a lifetime.
There has been a tradition of permanence here.
Ralph Renick, the news anchor of Miami's first TV station, WTVJ, went on the air in the 1940s and signed off in the 1980s. His signature line every evening: 'May the good news be yours.'
Channel 10's Ann Bishop also was on the air for more than three decades.
And remember Wayne Fariss, anchor of Channel 7's 'Big News' with Richard Whitcomb? Maybe your grandfather does.
What about Dwight Lauderdale, Rick Sanchez and Ana Azcuy?
