Jeff Sperbeck's death officially ruled an accident
The death of John Elway's friend and business partner Jeff Sperbeck has officially been ruled an accident.
The Riverside County Sheriff's Department released the following statement on Friday:
The Riverside Sheriff's Coroner's Bureau has released the following information regarding Jerry Sperbeck's cause of death.
The Cause of Death is "Blunt Head Trauma," and the Manner of Death is "Accident," and the Mode of Death (How the injury occurred) is "Passenger fell from golf cart."
Sperbeck fell off the back of a golf cart that Elway was driving last month. Sperbeck died a few days later and his family and Elway have since released statements.
'I am absolutely devastated and heartbroken by the passing of my close friend, business partner and agent," part of Elway's statement read. Sperbeck's wife, released a statement that said, in part: "We are grieving this unimaginable loss as a family alongside our dearest friends the Elway's."
Following the coroner's ruling, Sheriff Chad Bianco told the Denver Post's Luca Evans: 'Outside of new evidence or new potential witnesses … our investigation is concluded.'
