Rainn Wilson of 'The Office' fame to host a movie screening and panel in metro Detroit
Want to catch a movie with Dwight Schrute of 'The Office'?
The next best thing to that is coming to Novi, plus you won't have to munch on Schrute farm beets instead of popcorn.
Rainn Wilson, who played the iconic character in the classic NBC sitcom, is coming to metro Detroit for an appearance at Motor City Comic Con, the vast gathering for fans of comic books, movies and television that runs May 16-18.
During his visit, Wilson will host a screening at 7:45 p.m. May 17 at Emagine Novi of his 2011 movie 'Super' that will start with a question-and-answer session about the movie.
Wilson stars as cranky, morose short-order cook Frank Darbo, who creates a superhero alter ego that he names Crimson Bolt. The New York Times called "Super" a 'subversively funny, tonally twisted film' that goes from 'something playful with dark undercurrents into the opposite.'
The cast includes Elliot Page, Kevin Bacon and Liv Tyler. The film was written and directed by James Gunn, who went on to helm the 'Guardians of the Galaxy' franchise and is now in charge of the DC Cinematic Universe.
Tickets are $40 for the "Super" event and are available at Motor City Comic Con's website, along with more information on the three-day fan-stravaganza at Novi's Suburban Collection Showplace.
