Multistate Salmonella outbreak linked to pistachio cream: CDC
A multistate Salmonella outbreak has been linked to Emek-brand pistachio cream, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). 'CDC and public health officials in two states are investigating a multistate outbreak of Salmonella infections linked to pistachio cream,' the CDC said on its website. 'Do not eat, sell, or serve Emek-brand pistachio cream with a use by date of October 19, 2026.' According to the CDC, there have been 4 cases in the outbreak in Minnesota and New Jersey, with one hospitalization. The CDC's website said the pistachio cream might 'be packaged in a 5-kilogram white tub.' In late May, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) upgraded a recall on tomatoes sold by Williams Farms Repack, also due to contamination with salmonella. In April, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) said it was withdrawing a proposed rule from former President Biden's recent term that would restrict salmonella levels in raw poultry. The rule would have made corporations test contamination levels in chicken and poultry infected with strains tied to the meat-borne disease.

Salmonella outbreak sickens four in two states
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, with headquarters in Atlanta, said this week that a tainted batch of pistachio cream has put at least one person in the hospital and sickened four across two states. File Photo by Erik S. Lesser/EPA-EFE June 16 (UPI) -- The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has announced that a tainted batch of pistachio cream has put at least one person in the hospital and sickened four across two states. The CDC reports that Emek-brand pistachio cream, with a use-by date of October 19, 2026, is connected to an outbreak of salmonella infections. Three people have reportedly been sickened by the contaminated food in Minnesota, with a fourth in New Jersey. The first two victims to fall ill were dated in March, the other two in May. The data released does not indicate if the sole New Jersey victim was among the two first to contract the ailment or the last. Marked with a production code, or PNO, of 241019, the shelf-stable nut butter cream is sold online for wholesale distributors, restaurants, and food service locations nationwide, and may be packaged in a white, five-kilogram tub. This particular batch of product is not to be sold, served or distributed, and any items that may have come into contact with the cream should be washed and sanitized.

Popular Pistachio Cream Linked Salmonella Outbreak In Multiple States
"Hearst Magazines and Yahoo may earn commission or revenue on some items through these links." It may be a guava summer, but we're all obsessed with pistachios right now. I mean, have you seen the number of pistachio-flavored products popping up at Costco and Trader Joe's? It's all thanks to Dubai chocolate taking over our taste buds. (Seriously, if you haven't jumped on the pistachio train yet, you need to do so ASAP.) Just make sure you stay away from the cream for now... because it might be contaminated. Yep, tragic news incoming: a multistate Salmonella outbreak has been linked to Emek-brand Pistachio Cream. According to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), this Turkey-based cream brand is tied to the Salmonella outbreak in Minnesota and New Jersey. So far, four cases have been reported, and one person has been hospitalized. Thankfully, no deaths have been reported at this time. The FDA reports that all affected individuals consumed the cream, with three of them confirming they ate it at the same location. To make matters worse, the Minnesota Department of Health notified the FDA that a sample of the Pistachio Cream tested positive for Salmonella. Yikes. While there hasn't been an official recall yet, it's likely the cream is the source of the outbreak and will be pulled from shelves soon. If you've recently purchased Emek-brand Pistachio Cream and are worried it might be contaminated, here's what you need to know: the affected cream has a use-by date of October 19, 2026, and the product code 241019. If you have this cream in your pantry or refrigerator, it's probably best to toss it and stay safe. Be sure to keep an eye out for any official recall announcements. And if you're really craving pistachio (no judgment here), Amazon has some pretty good dupes, if I do say so myself.$14.99 at at at You Might Also Like Insanely Easy Weeknight Dinners To Try This Week 29 Insanely Delicious Vodka Cocktails
