Boitshepiville junior teams take part in pre-season tournament
VANDERBIJLPARK.- The Boitshepiville junior teams were involved in the pre-season mini tournament.
This was in preparation for the upcoming Emfuleni Local Football Association Development League at the end of this month. These pre-season games took place at Cecil Oldrige Park on Saturday.
Various Boitshepiville teams formed part of this pre-season tournament. It was a great day of football development, with these youngsters showcasing their talent. The day's programme started with the U9 teams. It was a day well spent with parents who came in numbers to support their children.
Some of the teams that formed part of this pre-season programme include Sharpeville Rhinos FC. Two Touch FC, LM Sports Academy, among others. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Paul Motsepe, who is also ELFA Head of Technical, said this kind of programme must be sustained.
He told Sedibeng Ster Sport that in the past, such programmes were the key for football development in Sedibeng.
'In the past, we had exciting football programmes in this region. We must go back to how we used to do things in the past. We had a solid foundation, that is why we had so many players coming from this region,' said Motsepe.
