2 dead in ‘possible' murder-suicide in Lorain

LORAIN, Ohio (WJW) — Lorain police are investigating after two people were found dead of apparent gunshot wounds in a 'possible' murder-suicide.
Concerned relatives called officers for a welfare check at the home in the 200 block of West 29th Street just after 10 p.m. on Saturday, May 31, according to a Sunday news release.

Officers were given a key and went inside to find 63-year-old Anthony Coonrod and 30-year-old Emily Simmons both dead, according to the release.
A preliminary investigation suggests their deaths may have been a murder-suicide, according to the release. Officers are not seeking any other suspects at this time.
