Notre Dame falls short in girls state title game
NORMAL, Ill. (WMBD/WYZZ) — Notre Dame's bid for a second straight state championship feel short Saturday.
Nashville beat Notre Dame 55-29 in the class 2A girls basketball state title game at CEFCU Arena on Saturday. Emma Behrmann scored 14 points to lead Nashville to its first state title since 2013.
The game was a rematch of the 2024 state championship game, won by Notre Dame, 48-46. Julia Mingus scored 11 points to lead the Irish, who finished the season with a 33-5 record.
Nashville held PND to one field goal in the second quarter and led 23-13 at halftime and increased the lead to 15 points after three quarters.
