Dereham's Dolan set for titles defence at York Hall

Dereham's Emma Dolan returns to the ring in April as she defends her British and Commonwealth super flyweight titles. 'It's a brilliant fight, one that gets me excited and something I can really get my teeth into. I can't wait to show everyone what we've been doing in the gym,' said Dolan, who will face Lauren Parker at London's York Hall on April 4. Dolan's ring return will mark her first appearance at the intimate, famous-old home of British boxing. The 26-year-old should have chalked off this milestone last December, but a chest infection put paid to her scheduled headliner against unbeaten challenger Megan Redstall. With her illness frustrations now safely behind her, Dolan is looking forward to appearing on the DAZN televised show, promoted by Izzy Asif's GBM Sports. 'I think this is such a brilliant platform for me,' said Dolan. 'I really like Izzy and his setup. It would be a pleasure to fight for big titles with him in the future.' Dolan will feature in one of the chief supporting bouts on a packed card headlined by Shakan Pitters challenging for Frenchman Daniel Blenda Dos Santos' European light heavyweight belt. The Carl Greaves-trained Dolan, now based out of Newark, has been inactive since outpointing Shannon Ryan last summer. In a mature performance, she dropped the bookies favourite early, on her way to winning a points decision. Dolan, unbeaten in seven fights, is confident in her ability and desperate for another chance to showcase her skills to a larger audience. "I'll go anywhere to fight,' she says of what will be another evening in the 'away corner' when facing Stevenage-based, former European champion Parker. 'I thrive off it; it gives me a real fire in my belly. I am getting a reputation now for going on the road and spoiling the party. I'll be bringing a load of supporters down, too. But none of that really matters, though, once you're in there and that bell goes. 'Then it will just be me and Lauren.'
