Panthers' sushi order mocks Oilers' pre-planned Cup party at Fort Lauderdale hotspot
According to B/R Open Ice and later explained by Empty Netters Podcast, the Panthers reportedly ordered food during their Cup parade from Takato, the same upscale restaurant in Fort Lauderdale the Oilers had reserved before Game 5—planning a celebratory dinner after what they believed would be a Game 6 victory.
Podcast co-host Dan Powers shared, 'Unbelievable sushi restaurant down here at Fort Lauderdale in the Conrad Hotel—favorite spot of the Edmonton Oilers… the Edmonton Oilers reserved Takato restaurant, booked out the whole thing for Tuesday night after Game six for their Cup celebration.'
When this inside scoop made its way to the Panthers locker room, the team used it as fuel. 'That information makes it on the whiteboard, pregame game 5, literally before the game,' Powers revealed.
